Santa's wishlist for BMS

“Internal sounds” (important for realism and immersion) : What ppl don’t understand (especially if they newer flew in a fighter jet) is that what they hear on videos is NOT what the pilot hears.
This is a sound recorded from a plastic/metallic GP PRO that is no wearing an helmet…This!!! Even in light general aviation airplanes we have this. We wear nice noise cancelling and passive hearing protection headsets to block out as much of the nosie that will damage your hearing, which is pretty damaged for me since one of my jobs I had the headsets off a lot.
I also remember the first time I heard a jet in the air, it happened to be an F-16 too. I was flying a glider at about 3000’ and heard the viper and started to panic because I figured if I could hear him he had to be close. Since the airport I flew at was under a MOA, I had a few close encounters with them before in airplanes but never heard them. I look all around in the glider don’t see anything and finally look up and see the F-16 about 5000’ above me, no danger at all. Gliders with no engine nosie and just air on the canopy are the only aircraft I’ve flown that I can hear other aircraft with any reliability and not need hearing protection to block out as much of the nosie as possible.

MFD Moving map
F-16D shared cockpit for training missions
Auto-GCAS -
The latest F-16V(block 70/72) Viper. Would be perfect for more modern missions with so many loadouts and features. Also the F-35A Lightning II mod that is still in development.

I wish an old school F-16A very dirty…slick bombs, apg-66, only sidewinders

Yeah! Real old-school flying.

@tiag
+1 you’re not the only one. I’ve tried to find some info on stores management display and equivalent of ICP keypad located on left console. You can find glimpse of S-M display on old promo videos. I’ve made some screenies. Unfortunately, aside from picture of said keypad and Function knob I couldn’t find any useful data.
I guess one may ask on f-16.net, such an old system shouldn’t be that secret. -
I am doing currently 1984 campaign in BalkansL theater. Modified F-16C block 25 with editor to have only 1984 weapons. It gets kind of boring a bit. Sparrows, Sidewinder, Mav, bombs and that’s it.
I thought it would be better but tis a bit boring IMO. Makes you appreciate the monster USAF block 50 I suppose my fav F-16. CFT block 70 no, too heavy… -
@Hubert3000
Stop using sparrows and HSD 23 on your RWR should give you some shiver -
I thought the block 25 had Sparrow in '84 that’s the info I’ve seen. No? Yes 2 Floggers or Fulcrums is a handful lol. Mig-29A of course.

Without the 100% accurate navigation, only INS, modeled INS drifting. No data link with accurate cockpit. My wet dream…

There have been sources over the years but they are most likely wrong. People get confused by the word “provisions”. Sparrow wasn’t test flown and certified on the C until 1989 according to Lockheed M. F-16A ADF in 1989 really was the first.
Don’t let that stop you using it though.

@Hubert3000
As Migbuster said, there was only one Fox-1 capable variant and, introduced much later as Migbuster said and iirc it was never used outside US space.
Where blk25 may seem boring, blk15 would give you a hell of a thrill: less reliable nav system, less capable radar, no real MFDs, no HSD to keep your SA…
BTW isn’t '84 a bit to early for any F-16C at all? -
@Xeno Where that comes from usually is that first C was delivered in 84 to USAF and production started that year but don’t think they were really operational until a few years after that.
-
Yes it is theoretical conflict what may have happened in wartime. Delivered to USAF jul '84 but IOC later.
-
@molnibalage
no DED, large HUD control panel, no MFD, Stores Control Panel, , APG-66 with Radar Control Panel to set freq, azimuth, channel, elevations, PRF(!) -
worst resolution of AG radar with more details, F16A with only one MDF, F16D block 70 with three MDFs :D, COOP would be great for 2 seat planes, own flag/picture/skin editor

Also no EEGS gunsight. What about bullseye info (ownship, current radar cursor posit)? I haven’t seen any, at least on the REO display. Maybe it’s on the HUD but I’ve never payed attention to this detail when watching HUD cam (btw not so many available from A/B variants). Is there option to create markpoint during flight? I think there might be many features missing, each one small on its own, but in total, lack of those would turn mission planning/execution upside down.

- A functioning Rate-of-Turn Indicator.
Fast forward to 13:18 . . . .
- In 2D, the steerpoints display the compass directions between them, negating the need for the Ruler to get headings?

@Crassus very good point
