Has anyone bought and tested the TM TQS?
-
@huffer2 Even with the old TQS, you can set positions for idle cut-off and afterburner in the launcher. So then when you move your throttle past the idle cut-off position, you shouldn’t need to use the keyboard for the idle detent.
-
Sorry, I had to mention that I do the key and axis-mapping only in the bms launcher. It’s far more easier than in the game itself. Especially if you have more than 2 devices…
-
@Ricky yes but this throttle full aft movement is idle. From idle to Idle cutoff is not registered as a movement of the axis. Idle cutoff is a button press.
-
Here my settings for the throttle axis and cut off in pictures.
This is how the TQS Software registers “cut off” position" or “not in cut off”.
“Cut off” --> Button 18 is active
“Idle” and up to Full AB --> Button 18 is not active
To get into this menu in Windows10 you have to go to “settings” typ in “gamecontroller” and choose the Viper TQS…How I made the settings:
Keymapping in BMS Launcher
Axis mapping in BMS Launcher:
Full MIL
Full AB“IDLE DETENT” is not needed in Axis mapping.
The “AB DETENT” has to be placed very few in front of the point were you have to lift the throttle in AB…Hope that can help…
-
No Problem, im also using the AL , but wenn in 2D I’m just testing if the “Button” is registered by the game… sorry mean simulation (Release DX18)
As you can see its set but in the Setup menu there is no reaktion for it
I thnik I’m missing something but dont know what…
-
Did anyone get the indicator lights to work? Has anyone tried using Target? I cannot get Target to show my Viper TQS. I had no problem programming with Alt Launcher, I was hoping Target may get the lights working.
-
@Zwingli
Another question for you. I still launch BMS with the original launcher. Not the ALT Launcher. Is it possible to assign a Press, then a release for the DX cutoff keyfile with the original launcher? If not, looks like I will have to redo my cockpit setup with the ALT Launch and a new keyfile.
Thanks for your input
-
@Ricky
I know Ricky. The problem I think that would happen is when I move the throttle to idle, it is too easy not to FEEL the detent in the TQS, and I would probably kill the engine in flight!BTW, thanks for all your work with Tomcattwo on the new VCC-BMS 1.1
It is awesome!! -
Honestly, I don’t know.
But, as I heard, it is more sustainable for future BMS - versions to use the new one… That means that you can kind of export them easily or simply use the older one…
-
Are you sure that you use the same key-file in the launcher like in the sim? In the launcher you use the “BMS-Auto” key file… make sure that this is the same which is connected to your profile settings in the game…
-
@Echo I don’t know if your problem is that in setup options in bms you don’t see dx off
Is okay, you 'll see dx on but not dx off but is working right.
Is best to comprobate in AL.
Regards
-
@huffer2 Ah, that makes sense. Especially with the old TQS where the detent sometimes wears down.
And my pleasure, regarding the Virtual Crew Chief! Glad you’re enjoying it.

@Echo
Maybe there is new drivers you need to download from TM site. -
Here is my .key file

The TN TQS is available in two versions; with and without the extra panels. You can but the version without and later buy the panels and add them.
This leads me to the question. How are they attached? What does the TQS look like without the panels attached?
I am asking this because I would like to know if it is possible to mount the throttle section only in a pit. Is that possible without interfering with the panels in a full pit?
-
Hi everyone, my TQS VIPER arrived yesterday, I started programming the various keys I can’t program the mode selector ILS/TCN TCN NAV ILS/NAV does anyone have any ideas I thank everyone for the time you dedicate to the simulator and to the people who are part of this forum.
-
Got mine this morning. I’m struggling with the “off” position being recognised but the ILS/TCN mode knob was easy to programme in the Alt Launcher for me!
-
Ok - here is what I have found to work.
I think the TM software named “control panel”, where you have to enable virtual buttons, is a bit flakey.
But by using both the AL and the in game setup (controllers page) I managed to map all the TQS and panel functions and save the auto keyfile.
Hope this helps others,
Regards,
Gary

Does anyone know if the landing gear handle light and l/g position lights work, or it is something that is not compatible with BMS?
