The easy way to import toys for 3ds Max
-
Visit Project Licenses Plates if you want different serials on aircraft skins to become active in our beloved BMS install.
-
BUT you have to keep a few things in mind:
- texmapping will get lost
- anmations will get lost
- node types will get lost
- do not release modified models without the original autor’s permission
Cheers,
LS1. How does the original author can tell that this was his model?
2. Will help much to use it as a base to make other stuff… For example I don’t know how to make the Tank tracks…
And once again the whole Falcon is based on the copy paste from others… so this is a minor I believe… -
Arty,
1. IMHO it’s not a question of how the original author can tell that this was his model,
it’s a question of a modders respect to the original author.2. You could learn how to make your own tank tracks.
Just my personally 2 eurocent.
Cheers,

LS1. If u do it better than him than it’s way respectful as the Falcon history till now…
2. Yes but I rather not If I do them just for 2-3 times only…So we are even on the money I believe… cause I’m broke…

Can i use that for new models dimensations Thanks.

I think for new models and it’s dimensions WaveyDave’s LOD exporter is all you need.
Also if you look at some buildings in the DB, there are some with the wrong scale.
IMHO the only purpose of lod3dsconv is to export models to work on them in 3DSMax,
but with all those talents around I think it’s better to build them from scratch.Cheers,

LSHe meant to see what dimensions other developers used and maybe follow their rule…

You can export larger model in several parts. Split on *. blk, then convert *. blk to LOD then LOD to 3ds. Ultimately it all put together (LEGO) in 3dsMax.
Folly…

But all moving parts need to be moved in 3dMax… And I know that it sometimes works not well. Poly’s missing edges (two triangles with their touching side missing making it a messed up rectangle) which you have to fix before moving on. And in those cases it not one but many you have to fix. It’s not a perfect tool, but it’s all we have at the moment.

Does anyone have a link for the LOD3DSCONV.exe please?
-
*Edit: use c9’s link below
Other Question: I try to export the existing cockpit. I have all the LOD files ready. The lod file with the switches is 4,4 MB big and creates a 0,55 MB big 3ds file. Works great. But for the other LOD files the converter just claims it fininshed exporting but the resulting 3ds file is just 0 MB. Any ideas?

@Blu3wolf do you have a document which describes that process? And how do I find out if the file is too large for conversion? Trial and error I guess. But if I finally assemble the parts to one LOD file it’s going to crash the conversion again, isn’t it?
-
Depends what you want to convert.
Janhas models for example have a kind of lock that prevents lod editor to edit them. Maybe the same “lock” prevents the conversion.Στάλθηκε από το MI 5 μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk
