What most dont understand… the db entriees are mostly responsible for AI behaviours and 3D appearances (execption code hacks)…weapons performances are in the simdata folder.
Regardless how well the stock database (based on Korea) or its structure will be made in future, there is one thing to be considered (must).
Each individual theater MAY or WILL NEED its own adjustments in its OWN database because of the theater specifics, thus a flexibility regards (modability aspect - code) has to remain.The stock database can be universal (of course), but it should not be forgotten that a Add-on xxxx file-structure needs to be operational aswell.

make AF-like Aim120 C-4 and C-5 in core db and half work on weapon performance is done (then few SAM tweaks and u are almost finished)….
AF - AIM 120 are WAY off at low alt
BMS - AIM120 are off at high altno data can fix that

(many times in various context)I am a bit confused now. Sorry, I dont want to derail this thread, but this is very important for me …I guess AF vs BMS Amraam was probably discussed already before…I missed it and can not find the thread.
Do u think AF Amraam is overmodeled in low air? I would let it rather overmodeled and force players to execute real tactics. PvP air combat is the most important F4 feature for me.
Did u balanced it different due to the singleplayer (human vs stupid AI) preference? What about to make another AF-like Amraam entry for PvP guys?
EDIT: or is it impossible due to the huge code difference? Is BMS guidance algoritmus so bad, compared to AF?EDIT2:
1st entry - current BMS “Aim-120C”: shitty guidance, but kinematicaly OK in low alt, OFF in high alt
2nd entry - “Aim-120C-7” for example (Af -like) or “Aim-120C-af”: shitty guidance, as C-5 in high alt, as C-7 in low alt2nd entry does not allow player to turn into missile etc, data balanced in coop with A.S., KidVicious and other PvP celebrites
All your KTO campaigns can stay with 1st entry
Dogfight module - both entries (on two F16 - u can practise against AI and human)
PvP campaigns - can use 2nd entryP.S. sorry for my english

i agree but things must be done in complete cooperation , which means some 3rn Parties devs should also accept when “some” mods are not taken into account
Show me complete cooperation between BMS Group and the FO Devs’ i.e. communication.
Then we can move forward……has been sadly lacking since initial release and the fall out from TAW.Demer

Agrave_Blue/ Khronik, /no, I did not unzipped the archive to my desktop. Falcon BMS4.32 is on my root (usually C:). I did not think to unzip the file directly to my desktop. I tried it from the zip program. I guess that is my problem. I unzipped the file to my desktop and now see the installer; thanks guys.

Just a heads up… the Battle for Balkans Installer package on it’s own used over 3TB of bandwidth in 2 days (Nov 30th-Dec 1st), so I’m not surprised file sharing sites are flagging for bandwidth usage.

FO dev’s. FO altered to a developing team? I thought as a MP hangout was just giving TS room on some devs, I wasn’t aware that a structured development team was formed.
And about communication between them I don’t see any FO development team posts. If I misunderstood and u just mean the dev’s that r in the TS as I know it then comm is here. U post AS posts Mysticmagic posts.

I do not have time to try the theater, but I’ve watched the vid! Good job! … Nice UI
But for future SP theater, please, do not make modification on stock “Sim” folder (do “what you want” with database located into “Terrdata” folder) … and please, concerning UI, just keep Red Dog’s maps.
No other consideration to be taken in account except the two above. Do not hesitate to use campaign intro videos I’ve made for Balkans Theatre - BMS converted v1.0
The only thing I would ask more is: Try to conform “as close as possible” to BMS template (folder naming, folder structure and file typology, readme file … etc …) aim is to provide the most “uniform” add-on possible and reduce specificities to the minimum applicable in order to simplify to the max installation/un-installation and theater switching. Avoid as much as possible to use F4Patch as in Sinai theater. (in other words, please, do not use it … but as far as you do not have to replace “Sim” folder files, you do not need it)
In order to prepare a transition to future BMS version, we may open a coordination thread (we have the time, release is still completely unknown, but the earlier we are coordinating, the better it is )

IMHO (personal thought) It could be good to have a team specifically dedicated to theater development (it is what I wished to do on this forum room, but after PMC story, and due to lack of available time and other dev work inside the team itself, I’ve partially gave up the idea) … if we can find some agreements on few things (like the one my post above) and coordinate the development (only the link between theater dev team and BMS dev team) here… maybe we could do something.
But you must understand that some questions may need some time to be answered, and that ppl can’t come with 1000 questions (will certainly not be like on PMC forum (?)). It would be impossible to answer all the questions and anyway, it will takes time… It is the same on BMS dev forum, sometime there is no answer and delay may be long sometimes.
Not sure if it will work, but at least, we could try …
Will talk with other BMS team members about this … if you are also ok guys?

In some matters there r answers in some not.People meet, people talk, people have ideas, people work, people cooperate. Other people observe and judge from their corners not knowing anything about what´s going on in FO as they never show(ed) up there anyways.
That´s all it is actually.
Branding, cocky modder-attitutes, competition versus other devs or modders, “know it all” guys …… all that stuff is unproductive and mostly with poor or none results.
FO is not a special DEV* team with a “name” or “status” as such …just various people who love this sim and have skills and time to work - TOGEHTER !!! - on theaters producing consequently working and high qualitative results.
Beside that, it is just a place where EVERYONE and EVERY squad, modder, pilot (you name it) can go and meet others and have fun. Simple as that.
If few see or want to see it as “group” of certain people, or look down on that whole thing underestimating, then this is their own fault imo. as meanwhile over 1600 pilots from all over the world are registered and enjoy the oppertunity to meet other pilots, may it be for chit chats or for flights as the technical basis is given and actually sponsored BY the community.
But to make one thing clear… there is and will not be a BMS vs FO like mindset or behavior NOR will it be allowed to be provoked in such a “corner”!,because one hand washes the other in this case and its a united effort. One is a closed-door developement (BMS) the other a public and open “further-developement” - if you will - (aka FO theaters).
