AGM-84

Are you guys going to get the Sniper pod, eventually? and if you don’t mind, what is the main difference between the Litening III and the Sniper ? seems they both do the same thing. Or is the Litening III better in the recon mission (the Dutch apparently are convinced of that)
-
Do you know where was made the image? Was it ED F-16? At least 3 SDB on the rack and one AIM-9X is visible.
Another question - which cannot be shown a photo - that goal of this config. Just aerodynamic testing during flight or system test? It is possible to put on rack weapon (I think, I have seen on other AC this markeing) which cannot be released.
-
I love how they still put logos on bombs. Like they want to have some credit list.
“Special delivery, brought to you by:”
Picture is posted here, by the way. Maybe you can find the location/squadron from the other picture showing part of the tail?
-
ah, the first 2 pictures is from an American jet, you can see it from the serial code style.
The other pictures are obviously from the Norwegian air Force, the Norwegian have no 9X, they bought the Iris-T instead. But, the jet with SDB, looks like he is at Nellis AFB.

F-16s which carries more than 3 from listed weapons on one side
Don’t see this as a limit of the software or SMS, as I said whatever you ask and willing to pay is feasible. Only problem and show-stopper of this and such configurations, are the aircraft and weapons structural limitations, as I’ve written in other thread recently. If it is not safe for the structure as proofed by computer and wind tunnel simulations, it will not be an approved loadout. The viper is small and sensitive bird, that can produce and multiply fluttering up to catastrophic failures very easily if you don’t load it properly.

You mean HAF? Well the demand was there since PXIV purchase plans, but some ppl in goverment had different opinion so they were left out. (maybe they didn’t get any money for this…) Currently the PXIV sq has taken half of the rest available Lantirn TGP pods. Simple solution for GBUs, bad for JSOW usage… Anyway, never now but difficult due to the crisis right here.
Litening III was an Israel product (although later purchased by US too), while Sniper was a clear US design to totally upgrade and replace the old Lantirn TGP. They are both very good and very similar to operation, only some symbology differences. Quite good image picture due to the latest sensors.
For recon missions --> use pure recon pods, like DB-110 etc.
For battle assessment missions --> use a (any) TGP pod to view and record the image.
In no way you can have the quality or data amount of a recce pod by just using a TGP.

The first of three images shows the test AC in 46th Test Wing, Eglin AFB, Florida. (The yellow color does not show that weapons are dummy variants, do they…?)
The Norwegian jet is more interesting. The loadout is on the AC but the photo sadly shows that only 2-2 bombs were released from both sides.

hey, those racks are used in the real life?

I think the BRU-61/A ( or the BRU-61 A/A) is still finishing development, getting cleared to fly with different airframes and different configurations. Not sure if it is in active service yet. It might.
-
It will be soon. SDB can / will be, like JDAM, to be all dropped by a single pickle. Just think about that : 12 small bomb dropped in a single pickle on 12 different target… the dream :woohoo:

The BRU-61/A is in active service with the F-15E fleet (there are photos of it in the 48th FW based in Lakenheath) and with the F-22 upgraded to the newest block (if I remember well Alaska’s ones are the only with this upgrade at the moment). The rack has been cleared for service with the F-16 but has not been fielded yet. The tests on the F-35 are still in progress (they did a live drop with a Paveway, then is scheduled a JDAM drop and after that a drop of GBU-39 with BRU-61).

Has anybody was able to launch AGM-84 in BMS4.33? I checked the manual. Is no radar or any lock requires at least in one mode. I tried everything when I push the release button on MFD the text is changed but missile never leaves the hardpoint. Other ASMs will get this new model?
-
Hung store (due to possible short pickle)? … Did you flew withing a/c limitation given in the loadout page (Max AirSpeed, Max G … ) ?

Power up on the missile as well ? Each missile has to be powered up independently, if you carry two.

RTFM… Harpoon can take up to 6 (yes 6!) seconds of depressed pickle in order to get released (6 is maximum, usually it’s much less, but can be 3+ or 4+ sometimes). There are no pickle restrictions IIRC besides the fact that you should be more or less straight and level.

Hi I fly F-16 block 40 whit AGM-84A. Give power , set target area - medium , fly - low and terminal - POP. Hold pickle for few seconds and launch. 20 seconds after shoot BMS stop working. Same story when i fly F-18 and shoot AGM-84A Harpoon. Any sugestion what is wrong?
-
Can you post a crashlog please? assuming you have one. Crashlog should be created under User/logs path in BMS installation, thanx.
-
Hi Thanks for answer . I don’t have a crash log on my own PC. I play campaigne on my own server and after shoot server go down. In my PC mission go on but after few seconds BLUE PAUSE. Take exit from 3D and have normal debrifing - AGM-84A - miss That’s all. I have crash log from my server so meybe this help you . http://speedy.sh/kxjgr/2016-02-23-205930-crash.txt

mmm… I think that your server is in 2D world (UI map?) isn’t it? If yes then this is not a valid MP scenario, server must be in 3D as well.
I know there is a crash when Harpoon is fired and someone who is in 2D, That someone will (but apparently not always) get a CTD.
