I would say that (IMO) PumpyHead’s words portray a minor level of understatement.
-
very minor
-
A whiff of Frugs …
Edit: maybe i should check my dead-horse-pictures-morgue …

Above all : THE MOST important point (according to me), is the good health of the team. Not a single trouble makers inside which is making the ambiance of work very more the excellent, very brotherly and it is a real pleasure and a great honor to be able to live among them.
…/…
I am probably missing something. In a PM you’ve sent me two or three months ago, you told me that you are “one of the most prolific Falcon4 developers of the Falcon history” (your words) …!?
Or I just do not understand some kind of joke. (?)Once upon a time, where Jurassic ages were still to come, Ara was not only the best An-2 developer in the entire galaxy, but also, and more important than any other aspects, he was the guy that make all the team a team…
You logged in to join the dev forum, even on bad days, because he was there, with his sarcasm and all his post you entirely failed to understood…
Quite every day, Ara made my day a good day…
In Memoriam, FF ! -
@DeeJay - Yes to everything you said. “Yes” - in this case - also swerving into the territory of “general agreement”.
Except the part about me being “one of the most prolific Falcon4 developers of the Falcon history”.
You know that I was in a bit of a mood when I sent that. That sentence needs correction.
I did not mean to type “one of”.
Interestingly - evidence of my collegial collaboration with (and spirited defence of) gasp the earliest iteration of BMS is still on my HD.
Bet not many remember that…? But -that was before you were born…And before 1600 pages of Falcon Manuals. (And the one which I wrote for Falcon Gold OIR.)
And the myriad of 'pits. And the release of FF4.0. Steve - bless his heart - was late to that party, and arrived with a hammer…
(That hammer serving to fill out your Team). No, I’ll share that release with Rex and the guy I brought into my Data-Team: Ranger822.Ahhhh…. The First Casualty of War is the Manual.
@Wanker Reference <– Hee hee… You may be surprised to know that was NOT - in fact - referring to YOU.
To whom it WAS referring would not - however - probably surprise you…Je suis Aragorn. Let’s not allow sarcasm or humour to enlighten, challenge or promote critical thought…!
Onward and upward the Phoenix; fan the flames of Falcon to burn in your glorious bosom; your heart be hearth. And - I hate Pumpyhead’s guts.
Ara’

Thank you, Jean-marie.
What a beautiful person you are.
Clayton.

Ah hell, the good old days of the beta Squad. Miss it.
I think the best day in my FF experience was when RP send me beta bum and us bums the first version of the F-16A cockpit. That and flying FF 4 on ODS with Aeyes F-16MLU pit the first time.
-
you remember
-
I did not mean to type “one of”.
Ara’My bad Ara! Sorry!
I hate Pumpyhead’s guts.
Now, I know.
…
Well … Now I have to study the other parts (the non quoted here) of your post … will call you back in 2 weeks.
-
My bad Ara! Sorry!
Hee hee…!! (You understood that, yes…?)
…will call you back in 2 weeks.
The PM I was just sending you would have taken 2 ~ 3 months*…! (*Reference to an unfunny joke. c.f. C3PO)
I just stopped writing it. I will need to edit it; try to make it shorter.
Will send again this week.Would probably be quicker for me to learn French.
ou peut-être pas …

"And, if one day, the wind change … if the team collapse … well … Falcon4 would had the longest live in the combat flight simulation’s history and will die a natural death.Nothing is eternal … not even a Phoenix."
it reminds me my winter holiday about year ago…I ****ed my leg…so I was alone in the cottage while my wife and boys enjoyed mountains…I had an old notebook there, so I started to mod “Prince of Persia 1”. I did 3 (actually 4) musketeers mod with new anims and some levels… I was hooked and very happy playing this. So Phoenix is an eternal bird imo
-
… I am also used to play
on my Ipad … but there is something affective in it. I do not think most of young ppl will continue play it like they play new generation games. -
Humm What a FLASHBACK…

Falcon will never die because no other sim is based on so many real military spirit everywhere. yes other sim models real things but it does not stink military like my friend radium used to say
And indeed on of the goal of BMS team is to get closer and closer to this stink
So imho there will always be people interested in that approach 1nd to be honnest what could make falcon die ??
GFX ? Nah history has proved that new gfx engines can be created
Hardware evolution ? Nah history has proved that falcon is able to accomodate newer systems
It will never die because we will always find coders and developpers that are attractes by the military aspect of falcon Bms and this addiction goes beyond generations
The only matter of concern is time. what is important is to have release as polished as polssible to last 4 to 5 years …and give time for another dev step.
Releasing every year and having to struggle publically with bugs could kill the dev motivation

I agree and while i bid Falcon long life and prosperity I still hope this generation will be blessed by BMS 4.33 !:bowd:

As much as i’d like to agree that “Falcon will never die”, BMS might die if they are sent a cease and desist notice from Tommo, the current owners of the Falcon 4.0 IP and many other pre-2000 Microprose titles. Not because of the mod itself, but because the modders have full unrestricted access to the original source code. That’s an issue. Tommo legally and officially own that source code in writing, the BMS team don’t. Having said that, nothing would please me more than to see that source code finally released into the public domain and attract more open development beyond this community.

open development of falcon would mean the final end of it because not everyone share the intimate spririt that drives BMS community.
Other sims open are here for that, no need to try to change the falcon, other tried and failed….only one route for falcon is the key

So……4.33 will be released between September 2015- September 2016, not 3-4 weeks.;)

Tommo? I thought Infogrames owned Falcons IP.

Tommo got Atari arcade titles and not all, IIRC they didn’t got Falcon. Falcon rights passed to oblivion.
