Big news in Project Rhino. Brother Smartaxe (aka. DA MAN) has fixed the F18E’s flaps(they now move properly),the Take Off Trim( now self-cancels as it’s supposed to),and auto throttle( which now works)
Also, I’ve done some “housekeeping” in the Mafia Files. There is a “1958 Ver.7.6.21” that has the current files in it. Also, there are some new folders-
4.34 acdatas , currently with Hornet and Super Hornet ( with flap fix) files
4.34 cockpit files, currently with Hornet/Super Hornet file( the file is used in both.
4.35 acdatas, which includes the Ver.7.6.21 Rhino fixes(in case you already have “1958”)
4.35 cockpit files. Currently this has the AV8 files and Lorik’s Mirage 2000 file. This folder will also be where the other jet’s cockpit file(s) are placed. One side note on this folder: The Harrier and Mirage files are examples of us fixing the hotspots in the stock cockpits. The Project to fix as many of these pits as we can is ongoing. However, in the meantime, we want to share the option to put a fully functioning 'pit in your jet-of-choice, in files you and/or theater makers can easily use. Generally speaking, that will mean a Viper pit for land based jets, and Hornet for naval-based. The reason for that is those are the 2 fully developed 'pits in BMS. Those files will be clearly indicated in the file/folder name (Ex: “Rafale-E vwe.xxx.Viper pit)” -
There’s a question out on General Discussion about refueling other jets. Have you guys any experience on aerial refueling of the Hornet, how that works ?

ok thanks, only video I ever saw of that was from 4.33. Has it ever come up to add buddy and/or drogue refueling, and is it your impression that the devs could be up for it?

OK, thanks for the message, I respect that of course and the immense effort you all are putting into this sim.
If it ever comes up in the future, do consider how buddy refueling could give some interesting tactical advantages. For instance, this video shows how buddy refueling keeps planes airborne when trying to land in very difficult conditions:
.Some are about to run out of fuel in the pattern overhead the carrier and they scramble refueling jets to keep that from happening.
Also, with larger theatres coming out (128 segments) having additional refueling options becomes ever more important.

In answer to your first question, procedure is the same in the Bug/ Rhino, as Lorik said. The flight modeling is a bit different in the -18’s, but it’s subtle.
Buddy stores have been discussed in the past. It turns out to be a rather involved process to set it up. Hate to tell you, but I wouldn’t be holding by breath -

In further Rhino testing I found the TGP wasn’t working in the Rhino. The fix is now in the Mafia Files as f18e Ver.7.8.21 -

While on the subject of the Rhino, the acdatas and ckPtArt folders can be used in the F18-F and the Growler. Just be careful to get the correct cockpitwingmodel in 3dckpt.dat. The E is 1470,F is 1474, and G is 1479. And, of course, you have to rename the acdatas to “f18f” and “ea18g” , respectively.

Here’s a quick Rhino Update for today…
I’m noticing almost constant BIT TEST FAILS in the Rhino, that don’t want to reset/correct. So, for now just reset the FLCS and clear the TEST page, but do not run the actual BIT TEST.
We’re working on it, and I’ll keep you informed.
Also, I posted this elsewhere, but here is a reference I like for the Case 1 approach -
