Would it be possible to run the pdf manuals or documentation through the Microsoft Word grammar and spellcheckers (assuming Word is the creating source, as it seems to be), to correct, probably 95% of those errors in the manuals? It still needs to be verified for accuracy, of course, but I’ve done that on my manuals (open the pdf’s in Word as a docx file, let it find all of the errors, then re-save back as a pdf. (It took about an hour per 100 pages for me, to verify each of the changes and corrections. Be aware that it’s NOT perfect!)
There is a lot of missing punctuation in the manuals that the grammar checker finds and fixes. These simple, auto-grammar (and spelling) corrections clarify the ideas, thoughts, directions and concepts much better than the original text in many cases. A properly placed comma or semicolon can make a world of difference in the meaning of the text!

@ShawnTaylor Thanks for reporting!
-
@greatcouloir Thanks for reporting!
-
@Fox_15 Thanks for reporting!
-
@Dan I would not recommend to do that. Spellchecker is great but as you said, not perfect. So its better to do it by hand/eyeball.

@Icer sorry for having misspelled “weather”, I wanted to say that the METAR and weather info are not giving the same info.

BMS Comms & Nav Book 4.36
p.14
Is: “Since 4.36 you can now intercupt the transition at any time when changing the VHF frequency.”
Should be: “Since 4.36 you can now interrupt the transmission at any time when changing the VHF frequency.”
Reason: typosTraining Manual 4.36
p.106 - duplicated sentence “When you ripple bombs in CCRP, the pipper shows where the first bomb will impact.”Dash-34, change 4.36.0
p.83 (section 3.4.7.1.3)
Is: “DBS2 will provide a FOV roughly double that of EXP and DBS1 with improved resolution (64:1).”
Proposed: “DBS2 will provide a FOV roughly half of that of EXP and DBS1 with improved resolution (64:1).”
Reason: When we zoom in, FOV is narrower, not wider.AIP 4.36
TACAN ranges cross checked with Stations+ILS.dat:1.2.1.1 (TACANs South Korea)
Gimhae - current range: 35 NM, should be: 140 NM
Seosan - current range: 50 NM, should be 35 NM1.2.1.2 (TACANs Japan)
Hiroshima - current range: 140 NM, should be 35 NM2.2.3
RK-110 PILSUNG (KOTAR) - KOTAR frequency provided (306.8) is incorrect; it should be 233.8 (as indicated in Training Manual 4.36 p.105 ). -
@greatcouloir Sorry but 1007 -> 2974 …

I’m sure you are speaking with authority in the conversion; I’m not. However, I was unconvincingly attempting to point out QNH in the training TE appears to be 2984 despite what is noted in the accompanying documentation.

User Manual:
Page 2-14
“IVC config files is not compatible”
Should be:
“IVC config files are not compatible”Page 3-26, bottom of page
“g_fSmartScalingThreshold defaults to 1.0 which is 1nm. Replacing 1.0 with 0.2 or 0.5 will provide no automatic scaling for objects closer than 0.2 or 0.5 Nm respectively and start the BMS Smart Scaling from that point”
Suggest instead, for clarity:
g_fSmartScalingThreshold defaults to 1.0. This means that SmartScaling will not begin until the object is 1nm away. You can make this value higher or lower, which will determine at what distance SmartScaling will beginPage 9-192
“The ACMI conversion has been greatly improved, so you get from 3D to briefing much shorter.”
Suggest:
“The ACMI conversion has been greatly improved, so you get from 3D to briefing much more quickly.”
or
“The ACMI conversion has been greatly improved, so you get from 3D to briefing in much less time.” -
I suppose I don’t need to explain what’s wrong.
BMS-Training p153.
EDIT: actually there’s no dome on D either at the moment, but I suppose it was reported already.
