The MLU variants has the switch located by the AP and Master Arm switches. It’s a three position switch, it says “HUD” and something else I don’t remember, but it is the same as the AVTR positions, OFF/AUTO/ON.

RE: Holy F__k already! This is STOOOPID!!!
By the way, the HUD symbology I mentioned earlier is great for getting the mav back to SPI (circle over square) in those spasm-out-slews. I agree this bug is the real issue with Mavs these days, not boresighting.

RE: MFD/TGP
Default keys: V toggles narrow and wide, ALT+F3 and ALT+F4 (this does not quit BMS, don’t worry) zooms in and out. TGP must be SOI.

RE: Holy F__k already! This is STOOOPID!!!
Most of the time I don’t care about boresighting, I just go off the weapons page. The HUD symbology will help you allign the Mav with SOI (put the circle over the square) finding your target with the Mav. Also, when I boresight, I lock the Mav, then the TGP, then hit BSGT. Eliminates all those stupid avionics faults. When I’ve done both statious, I quickly reset aimings (dogfight or missle override and cancel) and restabilize the TGP, check that the MAVs are properly slaved (typically I check that both stations point at whatever corner of the house my TGP is looking at), then go back to scanning for air threats and other enroute tasks.

RE: Legacy manuals missing from latest installers ?
If I had, probably so! I had no clue one had been made however, so I figured I’d use this thread to ask about it as it was relevant to the topic, and I’m not into the habit of searching up each word of my posts (I probably should to satisfiy those who have time to read all the threads posted). I’m sorry of course, I never meant to discus anything on this discussion board. Won’t happen again (maybe).

RE: VG BMS4 Co-op | 24/7 Dedicated Server!
Same here, have done a few sorties, everything running smoothly! DPRK seems to be pretty much defeated, though. Edit: Just saw it’s been reset, probably for U4, day 3 about to start now.

RE: Legacy manuals missing from latest installers ?
Waht about the threats guide? Has it changed alot? I do like the android kneeboard app for ground units, but I wouldn’t mind an up-to-date and full overview of stuff that kills you, might come in handy.

RE: JFS Operation
After reading this, I’d say - judging from sound, heat blur and the black jet of smoke - that in the video linked below the JFS is spooled completely at 1:59, then it sounds like it’s straining a bit while spooling the turbine, then fuel is introduced to the engine at 2:14, followed by JFS shutdown at 50% engine RPM at 2:34. I’d love to hear other suggestions / corrections if any:

RE: Performance off in MP
We definately didn’t test enough. I’ve just discovered that ENG CONT to SEC will reproduce these issues, so I’m thinking that’s the case. I’m going to eat my words regarding the fuel figures, I probably just matched the ones without burner. Afterwards I’ll eat my hat.

RE: Performance off in MP
My first thought too, but I quickly realized fuel burn figures would be off if that was the case. He was doing 40klbs and still accelerating like a Cessna 152.

Performance off in MP
Hi, tried a quick TE with a friend tonight, introducing him to BMS. Initially, when he joined the TE, things took a long time loading. Only after 10-20 seconds of viewing the mission screen, the flights appeared in the list. Didn’t think much of it, loaded a 2ship F16AMs (RNoAF) flight in the Nordic Theatre with a KC10, nothing else. Both loaded onto the ramp fine, taxied out fine and took off in formation doing the same things, no tailstrikes, gear up at 230kts, etc. Then he started lagging behind. Full burner would only get him an acceleration that I had at ~5000lbs flow. Braked back and inspected him visually, no gear faults, boards in, nothing wrong. Flaps auto, moving according to parameters. No tricky payloads, a few MK82s and 120s, two bags. We didn’t have time to investigate more, but I thought I’d search the forums. Found nothing, so now I’m wondering if anyone has any idea if we left out anything obvious, or if there are any things we should check that could cause this. We connect over hamachi, so there shouldn’t be any issues there, we used the same room and desktops we’ve used for several other games without issue.
Thanks
Edit: Just remembered, I left the bandiwth at 1024, could this throttle data to a degree causing these symptoms in a twoship with only one AI tanker?

RE: When you guys close the cockpit?
Oh, I definitely agree it’s a no on the 16, just seemed to me that the discussion moved on to all types, seeing as the harrier was mentioned.

RE: When you guys close the cockpit?
It’s not a universal no-no, though. Only yesterday I watched a video of T-38s starting and taxiing with open canopies.

RE: 8th VFW Class 17-BBK Now Open
If you have the focus and stamina, this is what you need. Joining this crew feels like doing it for real, because that’s just how darned invested these guys are. Definitely my best sim experience the last decade. Fight’s on!

RE: 3D Pit HUD Perspective Problem for A10 F15E and F18A using TrackIR
This F-18 view is true for my setup as well. I always thought it to be some sort of compromise since it’s not an F/A-18 sim

RE: Norway Theater - Lets do it!
Except, as mentioned, Swedish VFR pilots who stick to their own language and phonetics (and ATC replies in kind), however irrelevant for military traffic.

RE: Norway Theater - Lets do it!
For info, the Nordic countries communicate largely in English over radio. RNoAF Viper pilots also use English between themselves on coms and with AF ground radar stations etc, I guess in order to minimise/eliminate linguistic problems when operating with NATO. I’m not sure what the Swedes do, considering they build their own planes and remain outside NATO, but the VFR-guys there use Swedish on the frequencies (with their own phonetic alphabet, even), so who knows. I’d think Finish pilots are more prone to use English, but I can’t be sure.

RE: You know when you are flying too much BMS when…
When you see another glider leave the thermal bubble and you find yourself almost manouvering to join route form.
