@fairlycertain:
What kind of programs do you run; what do you find is most effective against active and IR threats?
I personally think more is better, so If I am getting spiked by the higher threats, I dump tons of chaff and jam on it, fly towards the deck.
IR threats are different, obviously, I keep the slap switch set to dump about 50 flares if I have that many in all of 4 seconds in a neat little pattern, if you throw in an aileron roll and crank hard near the end of the deployment, you get a serious fire works show that has proven too much for everything but the pythons.
Iād like to hear your thoughts on these things, all in all, Iāve noticed that countermeasures are not very effective against the āmodern weaponsā yet highly effective against the legacy weapons.
F, I used to make a lot of use of different CDMS profiles, it always seemed to run me out of dispensables. Perhaps more accurately, my hyperactive right thump did.While I do have my program 5 (slap) set up as a slightly modified profile I found in F4 Allied Force manual, my SOP procedure is to set program 1 as one chaff, and 6 as one flare. That way, CMS forward gives me 1 chaff, CMS left gives one flare.This allows me to āspasmā the CMS switch several times without wiping out my dispensableās inventory/ My slap is just the Panic Button.
