Falcon BMS 4.34 Changes you noticed.
-
Yeah IDM position is far less instant. Even on continuous marks time out before the next round. Maybe the timeout time is too short (you’d think it’d be at least as long as the round time). I wonder if all human players switch intraflight IDM to VHF if it will work over VHF, AI keeps to UHF tactical freq always.
I notice campaign IFF plan switches off IFF M1 M2 for you and back on based on steerpoint. You still have M4 the whole time which might still be an EMCON liability.
-
Ok, awesome work on maverick target acquisition without TGP boresight - first run 4/4 in the really bad weather in training TE - 2x D & 2x G. Huge (unless nothing’s changed from .33 that would be funny DOH :behindsofa:)

You can change that behaviour in the .iff file that comes with your TE or campaign files. Instead of having something like ProfileMissionX=1108, just change it to 1100, and you’ll get no Mode 4 active after the push point.
But in real life if the transponder doesn’t receive the right “question”, it gives no answer, so is not supposed to emit. -
Fog of War used to be an experimental feature.
It’s now on by default. -
M61 GUN now makes recoil force

So far guys … are you considering that 4.34 version is a success? (awaiting more feedback on MP of course )
Are you happy? :munch:
Oh ya…. This is sweet. Great job guys.

It seems to me weather has effect on IR seeker. I was not able to lock with AIM-9X in head on from 0,3 nm in clouds even the radar tracked the target.
IR missiles are much more sensitive to flares.Totally new battalion configurations.
-
Using flares properly, i was able to spoof aim9-x’s lots of times in head on passes. Not so much after the merge! Even more so, the ace AI was spoofing them all the time. Love it!!! And don’t get me started on BVR. You now have to work hard to shoot down an ace AI with amraams!

Yes, I’ve been out of BMS for nigh on 18 months now due to life stuff, but I suffice to say, F-16CM50 1v1AI didn’t bode well on my first round. I lost, 2:3. Second game, I won 3:0 once I’d started getting the muscle and crank memory back… I find that MAR makes getting a high PK very tough against an ACE F-16 with same loadout.
-
IVC Client Fuzz option seems to actually work now. I could not get it to work in 4.33.

In my first test a MiG-29 from head on defeated in the first attempt the AIM-9X.
Considering the new SAM + ARM capabilities and other DB changes (battalions) now we have a totally different, a long awaited environment even without the capability shooting down ARM/ASMs by SAMs. -
I won’t risk anything fancy. Too many people happy to see now features that were already in 4.33 :P.
Yes, I think we do enjoy, a lot.

Ok, Dee-Jay. Here is the truth.
At the begining I was kinda disappointed that GFX was not the area of improvement. But then… I have spent more time in BMS last weekend flying… Viper alone, than in DCS F-14 since its release (13/03/2019). I think this is telling something.
My biggest minus of 4.34 is that A-10A cockpit and 3D model has not been updated since 4.32. But the rest is top notch. Dogfight during morning thunderstorm is totally new exprience for me!

BMS4 is on the level of GFX what is needed to me enjoy it. Of course DCS is far more better looking but to me is pointless.
On my HW a simple DCS F-15 quick mission is not fluid, nowhere near above constant 60FPS on med GFX settings.
And the whole game is empty. It does not have dyn. camp except for some 3rd party aircraft and you have to create your own missions and you have to be a programmer to use the scripts. In BMS4.34 your only task is click on “launch campaign” button.
This is so huge difference which is hardly stands any against comparison if we are talking about HC tactical simulators. DCS is a wonderful aircraft modeling SW but as a tactical simulators fails on too many area. Especially how ED is patching it. Currently “only” the HARM and JDAMs are broken… but in next update maybe another will be good and bad.BMS4 is not as frequently updated but the quality is much more trustworthy.
As long as the modeling part of the DCS allow such things I have doubts what works in the background. The only feature what I miss from DCS the SAMs anti ARM/ASM capability and sim. eng. capability. Nothing else.

To me 4.33 was unplayabe because n+1 factors. The 4.34 looks almost exactly if I made it or as I would make it.
The 4.34 brings everything what I tried to achieve my MODs and even more.So far guys … are you considering that 4.34 version is a success? (awaiting more feedback on MP of course )

From my POV. This is the best Falcon variant which made the most to put another level the tactical modeling. The new IR code, the better battalions, the more intelligent AI, better modeled SAMs, etc.
I have to learn everything which is beyond FF5.3 level but as I can judge 4.34 is not a success it is a
HUGEsuccess. It laid down the foundations of ever larger developments for the tactical modeling.
-

This is of course something we can easily understand. And this is why we have put here and there some “disclaimers” prior to 4.34 release saying clearly that there won’t be any major GFX updates excpet few 3Dmodels. And also no VR.
We hope (not a guaranty either though) that next version (not speaking about 4.34 updates) could be a little bit different. But in any cases, do not expect a DCS like 3D models and GFX, manly because we also need to keep some resources to be able to run properly the Campaign, also because we are not a professional studio with access to latest development technologies and don’t have the same support from other studios.
But friends are gonna do the best then can to try to take this is account for the future. We won’t probably never do better than DCS (or other games) but we certainly can enhance BMS comparing to what it currently is. Of course … it takes time en efforts, and time … and … time. … you know : 3 - 4 weeks.Same about VR.
My biggest minus of 4.34 is that A-10A cockpit and 3D model has not been updated since 4.32.
Sure. This is a tricky subject. But since we can’t do everything, we have to allocate resources to a defined area. If you had a better A-10, or F-18 … you probably won’t have the IFF today, or AI enhancements … etc …
Important is to remember that main focus will certainly remains the F-16 and its environments … and when we can, where we can, enhance what we can on different areas (such as other a/c).So fart … there is no plan to enhance other a/c except maybe hoping for few enhancement on naval a/c to better enjoy the new naval environment (LOS/Carriers). Probably if it happens I bet on F-18 …

it means missile/bomb items should have RCS and IR values! lots coding work for DB and AI.
-
Just to add … I do REALLY don’t want to start again a discussion about who has the biggest dick between DCS and BMS… this is not my point at all. DCS is a GREAT GREAT simulator. We are all happy today and I would be sad if we start again flamed war between the two community (which is basically the same => Air Combat simulation fans! We are the same family whatever we fly the most. )
I just mean that BMS has its “targets priorities” and they could be different than DCS ones, also because of the nature of Falcon4 itself. So I am saying that, yes we will try to enhance visuals as much as we can, sure it will takes time without any guaranty (we could fail in the process and have to restart from scratch) … but also that GFX is not something considered as secondary. And I can safely say that it should be one of our next priority. But even if we succeed, do not expect a clown of DCS.
This is not our goal so to say. Again … there is no competition for us.
Happy flying for all the simulation world!

I know, but it is my wet dream. I would put totally on different level even just a small amount of SA-11/17, S-300V, S-300P(S), SA-15 and ships especially with multi target engagement capability even with their RL fire arcs.

Could you just take out that “t” from the second word of your last sentence DJ. I cant stop laughing like an immature school boy!
I cant believe this!
We had our bank holiday yesterday here in the UK and I finally got around to trying out DCS after only prodding at it with a stick (so to speak) for the last 3 months.
I was telling a friend of mine about how good VR is with the new F18 and how blown away i am with it.
I swear on my life, i said this to him this morning: - “I cant believe i am saying this - but i think it might be time to call an end to falcon”.
I just hopped on to check the forums and typical!! you guys…. i mean…
jeez!!
right - that’s me blowing the dust off the cougar mfds and fitting that extra monitor again. I think thats in the loft… will have to check.
It all sounds good from what I am reading.
