Random cockpit switches sometimes freeze and won't move with a mouse click
-
Had this a couple of times - using the mouse to click on a switch I sometimes find the toggle or button doesn’t move (I can hear the switch click but it doesn’t move). I’ve had this with the DIGITAL BACKUP switch during ramp start and the ALT/ATT HOLD ap switch during a flight. Again, I hear the click but the graphic doesn’t change (and neither does the action change). If I drop out of the cockpit and go back in again the switches work.
I also had the throttle freeze on me as well during taxi whilst on the ground. Moving my physical throttle to each extreme didn’t move the cockpit equivalent (engine rpm didn’t change so it would appear the sim wasn’t picking up the physical throttle axis). After a minute or so of trying the throttle just came back and was synchronised with my physical one. Very strange.
Can’t think of any other info that would be of use. In hindsight I should have tried the key press equivalent to see if that would toggle the switches.
Win7 Enterprise + Saitek X52Pro.

The only thing I can think of is that you are using only 1 mouse button .
left click = witch up ,right click = switch down.I really hope it is that simple,so you can start enjoying.
As for the throttle, is it working ok now or do you still have problems ?

I confirm for the throttle issue, it happened to me a couple of times as well during taxiing. The throttle in the cockpit will not be in sync with the physical throttle until some point that it starts, can be few seconds and sometimes a bit longer. It’s annoying but not that troubling as after a couple of seconds it’ll work, I’ll see i it can be fixed for next patch.

I’ve seen the DBU switch not working too…
Cheers!

I can confirm the mouse/switch issue as this has happened a couple of times with me. Regardless of which mouse button I use the switch doesn’t move but can be heard. I have usually noticed this on the JFS when ramp starting. If this is happening all buttons can take a couple of clicks to move (taken to double clicking them). This has happened in both 32 and 64bit versions. HOWEVER, I have also had times when I have had no issues with the mouse and switches move with the first click.
At first I thought it was an issue with my mouse but this would appear to be functioning correctly and I don’t have this issue with a button not working outside of BMS.
I’m running 64bit Win7 Prof and TM Hotas.

I’ve experienced the switch freeze as well. In the ground ops TE, I cannot get the DBU switch to move, though I can hear the click.
Also had the pri/sec switch freeze in sec mode - right / left mouse click couldn’t get it back to PRI. But I’m not sure if this was because there was no power to the jet - happened during my sweep.
-
I’ve also not seen the DBU switch move. It also doesn’t display the ‘WARN’ sign in the HUD and the light on the right ‘eyebrow’ doesn’t light up either.

I’ve had it a couple of time with my taxi light switch
-
I had the problem with the DBU too.
Thought it was depending on different Blocks of F16 because another time it worked. (it didn’t work in the Ramp Start Tutorial).

Just a wild guess here, but in what blocks/country-type of F-16s are the DBU issues happening? Do note that since the new avionics configurator, some types are designated with older analog FLCS, hence no DBU at hand. Could explain the non working switch.

I experienced it in the default ground ops TE - not sure what block that is - but it has the monochrome MFDs.
Edit: F-16B Block 15

Monochrome would be (guessing, not entirely sure, block40 or lower), and if memory serves me right, those indeed have analog FLCS.

It’s a Block 15.

It’s a Block 15.
Then it’s definitely analog FLCS.
Wonder why it’s not showing the analog FLCS panel then. BAF MLU in 4.33 does for example. -
I also experienced the Digital Backup switch not working during first training TE. It worked once in the same session, but twice it would not.
-
I’ve had this with arming the seat. I hear the noise but the graphic doesn’t update and the ‘seat not armed’ RBL stays on. Will try and get more data.

Not necessarily. Monochrome is indeed block 40 and lower but block 40s (alteast American aircraft) have DFLCS. Block 25 and lower are definitely analog so yeah a block 15 aircraft should not have been displaying the DLFCS panel but the AFLCS one. Completely different looks.

This could be incredibly bad if it happens with the JFS switch because if it catches up and thinks you turned the JFS off prior to engine spool up then you are SOL for getting that aircraft started since Start 1 is not modeled.

I’ve had the AP switch problem noise but no movement, the throttle problem on the ground TRN mission #1 every time. if I fly the Navigation Msn TRN #2 during the flight (starts in the air) the A/P switch will make a noise but does not move, the ICP stops working, no BTN pushes work, HUD wheel works, previous and next works and just before this happen I get a strong deep beeping sound then I know it’s about to happen. Then within a few minutes another deep beep and usually all systems ok after, until another beep. all flight surfaces controls work fine during the flight. On the throttle, when TRN #2 starts it is in the air and it 's 50/50 chance that the throttle will work or you find yourself doing a air restart. The Throttle is annoying it takes 2 cycles ( Idle to full PWR) to get the empty jet to move and then takes have throttle to get to the RWY. Checked BMS setting, Throttle, idle/AB, and made sure brakes are reversed for pedals. The throttle problem happens with a campaign flight also very annoying.
