As DJ’s vids also point out it can depend a lot on the jet as well…one of the worst cases I’ve heard related is from a Harrier jock - the canopy seal is pressurized by engine bleed air, and in some instances - like rolling in on a high dive and pulling the throttle to idle - the canopy seal will deflate and you get wind noise in the cockpit until you put the throttle back up. That’s got to be annoying.
A Harrier also produces some of the most distinctly annoying inlet noise I can think of - from an on deck perspective. And even so, it still pales in comparison to the sheer volume of an F-35…

using my keyboard, a PS4 controller and I’m using the mouse wheel as throttle (way better than using controller buttons). Unfortunately I won’t have condition to buy a stick and throttle anytime soon.
Yeah even proper joystick/throttle axes don’t support reversal, in BMS. Need external software (from the vendor, or vJoy/Gremlin) if unlucky enough to have such a device.
If you are using mousewheel as throttle, check out my companion app:
https://github.com/arithex/DragWheel
Allows you eg. to hold a button on your PS4 controller, and move the mouse up/down, to manipulate the throttle lever.
(Caveat: mousewheel-as-throttle is officially unsupported, per the docs, so not something I expect to be fixed or improved upon ever.)Do you use mouse for looking around, or something like Joy2Key to look around via thumbstick?
I’m thinking of making a special app/mod to help console game-controller pilots. So always curious to learn what people are doing, today.

It is immersive only for ppl who never flew on fighter jets.
Auditory fidelity aside … there is a school of thought that subtle sound fx can add immersion for people sitting in a comfy chair, not able to feel the vibrational frequencies of engine rpm or airspeed in their seat, or experience any g-forces or inner-ear sensations of motion, or know that they’re lifting the throttle over the ab detent, etc. (I think BMS audio does a pretty good job of striking a balance on these things, and I appreciate that. But I also appreciate that some of those effects may feel “uncanny” and artificial to actual RL jet pilots… so the option to turn those effects off/down is always a good thing to have.)

I have to agree here… the F-35 on the ground (witnessed at Volkel NL during the last “Luchtmachtdagen” a few years ago) is one of the nastiest aural experiences. The high-pitched whine at a tremendous volume perfectly fits the ugly exterior of the jet Even in-ear plugs don’t help much in this case.
All the best, Uwe

Hi All,
When i am close to the runway and see other fly taking off, i can’t heard their engine sound. I think it could be more real to heard something (i guess a pilot heard other engine sound…but i am not sure because i am not a pilot ).
Thanks, Ciao

I have to agree with you because I experienced the same. Not sure which version but in older ones of BMS I was able to hear jets taking off with significant sound “with no ear plugs” option. I didn’t change any setting in U2 but they sound relatively silent.

I wish the skin we select can be saved just like the ordinance. Thank You.

A good example …
Keep in mind that this is the camera recoding (no helmet, no earplug) … so pay close attention during wing change when lead passes in front of the #2 (play the video at x2 speed, it is easier to hear the volume change), you can hear leader’s engine (actually, it is certainty more additional turbulent airflow on the canopy than engine’s sound itself) … but you ill notice that it is really minimal.

Hello to you all.
I don’t exactly know if this can figure in this present list, but the same, just can’t await to see what good new graphic engine’s will bring (even if not in the next update, I know that it’s a very complex matter).
In this while, I wouldn’t dislike at all some little ehancements here and there as a starter, though.
With best regards to all.

Hope bomb impact angles matter degree of damage in the future update

I think I’ve mentioned this before (a LOOONG time ago, in regards to a previous update), but I’m really hoping for a hands-off campaign weather system. Just some simple one-click “dynamic weather” check box that takes care of it all for the user. Whether that is downloading the real weather maps or just making up random weather.
Dealing with all the fiddly weather stuff is a pain, and it’d be a nice change to not have to deal with downloading the maps and getting it all configured.

On the other hand it is already nice to have such a tool to provide you with nreal weather maps.

That would be great. I know one can utilize the probabilistic weather, but I have a feeling that it’s only changing between the sunny, poor, fair and inclement presets and not the individual settings inside them? I am also unsure about the transitions if they’re smooth or if it just switches from 1 preset to the other instantly? It would be cool if it just randomized a bunch of those fmaps, but in a somewhat plausible way.

Mav-jp,
That’s a great news. Does it mean we could fly stealth fighters in BMS like real world?

Have you ever tried to fly against the F-22 in Dogfight? You’ll have a hard time locking it from more than 10NM and many Fox-3s will miss, even if your radar is locked.

No, I have not. That’s a great news. Thanks for the information.

please correct the volume reset every time we go to external view, it’s really annoying. Thank you in advance.

? Don’t know what you are talking about.

I think I’ve noticed that problem, I have the UHF or VHF, threat warning volume etc. set to a certain place, switching to an external view and then back to the cockpit view, the volumes have reset to something louder, although the knobs remain in the positions I set them at.
