Shrug Opinions are like arse holes, everybody has one. I really don’t care what Wolfox321 has to say about BMS and realism. Every PC desktop flight simulator (BMS, DCS, XPlane, P3D, the upcoming FS2020) is an approximation and compromise - simulation isn’t emulation. Despite that, Falcon BMS feels pretty realistic to me. And that’s all I care about.
-
I beg to differ:
7\. Trolling, Attacks and Flaming: These are always forbidden. Trolling is posting in a way that provokes emotional responses. Attacks and derogatory terms of any kind are not welcome Flames are messages that personally attack or call any people names or otherwise harass. These, along with any generally condescending posts will be edited or removed at the moderator’s discretion. If a thread is flame-bait (appears to be intended to start an argument or is likely to cause an argument rather than enhance discussion, as in trolling), it will be locked or removed without notice. Individual flame-bait comments in a post will be deleted or edited at the moderators' discretion. If the thread turns into an argument, it will be closed to further comment or removed without notice. Sometimes a moderator may split the thread or remove certain portions in order to keep the discussion going, this is not always possible. Continuous or deliberate attempts to derail the topic of a thread. Repeated attempts to push the boundaries of any element of this entire policy that in the opinion of a moderator amount to a provocation or annoyance will result in sanctions just as surely as actual failure to follow the entire policy.
… which leads me to wonder, why is Wolfox321 still afforded posting and even reading privileges on these forums?
Very good point and fair.

I agree with you tazz, specially the last part of your opinion, i do also believe that bms is quite reallistic, although everyone has their opinion of what realism is, some think is graphics some think is about sounds, etc, and imho we should just proof him wrong, and avoid any type of rage outburts, in other words, treat haters profesionally, is he/she post a hate post just lets proove his argument might be wrong, if he keeps posting nonsense hating posts then we’ll deal with him according to the rules,
If we let ourselves to tell the haters to **** off, someone will spread the word that we, the Falcon BMS Community treat haters unprofessionally, making us look unmature.Thats my honest 2 cents

uh, we have a real F-16 pilot, here….
Guys, just to let you know and to deny any confusion:
That Wolf is NOT any kind of RL pilot.
This guy is named Yarin and he is well known in the Israeli community as a walking joke. Something between Pathetic and illusionating. He thinks that he invented flight sims because he found a way to spread a huge 3D model with high res terrain textures on top of the real BMS terrain. Throwing out the window anything related to realism, from LOS to objects placement. In short - This guy doesn’t worth spending any breath on, I already spent more than enough, please just ignore him. He is a kid that never grew up.

I-Hawk, you are right.
BUT this guy (Wolfox321) already bother/troll the forum and specifically this thread of JanHas Models & Skin.
As per forum rules, trolling is not welcome/permitted, so I think moderation should give him a “good” warning and then they know the next steps…
We can’t have similar behaviors to “destroy” our forum status. IF the specific guy wants, he can open a specific thread maybe into “General Discussion” thread and place there his opinions.
Then no other thread will be hurt/bother, forum members can continue their normal contact at the rest threads and the guy can be alone at his thread, in order to NOT think that we are not fair and showing no respect to anyone.
BUT he must realize that he also should respect the forum, its rules and the rest members.
Again, here is “JanHas Models & Skin” thread and already the last 3 pages are off topic due to him.

we all are IMO
Positively, of course! I wouldn’t have it any other way! When I see people around me that have no such hobby and they are “no more kids”, I simply pity them

Nikos.100% agree. Moderators should put a stop on it then?
Although I bet he will come with different nickname and spread bullshit again (He did the same throughout the years on Israeli forums). Possibly some kind of IP ban will be needed here.

Fair enough.
1. If we apply that rule to the letter, many of you would be trolls as your responses to the ridiculous attacks are provoking emotional responses as well. In many cases it doesn’t even take an troll trigger to get a response which is going to be emotional as well.
2. We have to deal with all of your behaviour with very limited resources. For instance preventing a guy to come back is almost impossible. Thinking banning his IP range will work is clearly a proof you do not understand the modern internet.
As said that guy will be back after being banned, and off we go again. Where is the difference?3. We cannot educate that guy. As I hawk said. He’s been spreading the same crap for decades and even them couldn’t shut him up.
4. So our best course is to try to convince you guys, our community members to help us. By simply proving him wrong or plain ignoring him.
5. As long as you feed the troll you are actually playing against your own team and make this place worse than it deserves.
The way to deal with this is exactly as Rypley said. But it is not possible for all human being. Leave emotion out and you should do better. Imho
And if you cannot, just remain silent -

And if you cannot, just remain silentUnbelievable - you actually refer to him as a troll in your own post then move to a number of reasons why Rule 7 is disregarded?
I’ll say this for DCS - their strict adherence to their rules makes for extremely self-centric forums but at least they stand by their beliefs, making them relatively sterile when it comes to this type of behaviour.
Of course some of us (including myself) respond with a degree of emotion to the trolls - some of us have a great deal of emotional investment in BMS and I for one do not like to see it belittled for an agenda. This guy comes into your house, pisses on your carpet, insults your wife and children. What you gonna do? Take him down the local and buy him a drink? Of course not, you are going to respond in defence. Why should coming to a forum and doing the virtual same be any different?
Take a leaf from the DCS forums - ban the trolls, ban talk of DCS and other sims, watch these forums become a place where BMS fans can come to discuss their favourite sim in peace and harmony with like-minded individuals. Let the carpet-pissers go elsewhere for their kicks.

You may not understand malc. But you also do not see the work behind the scene and the amount of posts that are made invisible to you user by moderation action.
Would you please give us a bit more credit than looking at the issue with a single angle of view…?
If you feel you can do better. Please join the team. And we will see how you deal with this from the inside. By respecting all users… including these flying other sims, including these criticising bms sometimes rightly so because bms is far from perfect (may I remind you we land on grass with no problem) and sometimes wrongly by lack of experience or by trolling action.
Think you are objective and dispassionate enough?
You criticize and play against moderation because you look at moderation from a user perspective. You lack global vision from a moderation perspective weighting the consequences of our actions.
Sure you can ban everyone and deal only with those thinking like you but tell me, is this still within the purpose of a forum?
If all you can do is to shut the guys criticising don’t you think you lack argument to prove them wrong? Therefore giving them credit ?
Imho.
-
There is a difference between criticizing and trolling. I have no problem with criticism about BMS, hell I’m even for it and I will be the first to say that something is missing/wrong/low-detail, but in many cases here I see trolls, some don’t even care about BMS but they only want to troll and piss. The Israeli guy here is a perfect example and also the “ItsJustHim” at the DCS thread currently running (Now banned, but I’m sure you know what I refer to).

I acknowledge your reply RD, and thank you for it accordingly. I have no desire to join moderation, I simply do not have the time. I spent many years as part of the mod team at FW so would hope I have a fair degree of understanding what’s required and what goes on in the background, but now I will simply revert to “your house, your rules” and do my utmost to abide by them. Hopefully those who so successfully skirt them can have a change of heart and abide by them too.
