No, guard frequency doesnt have its own dedicated generator. Its so that if someone is broadcasting on the emergency frequency, you can hear them, even when you are not tuned specifically to the emergency frequency. The frequency is ‘guarded’.
For the spotlight, check -1.

Trig files fixed and A10c pit…

no I thought in case of other failures the guard would allow pilot to communicate with ATC. What about the spot light (shift -s)is that realistic feature of the F-16 or is it BMS inspired.
The UHF radio has 2 receivers and 1 transmitter. Normal UHF operation transmits on normal transmitter on receives on normal or normal+guard receivers (mixed). The guard switch forces both the normal transmitter and receiver to the guard freq and disables the fixed guard receiver (hearing two receivers mixed on the same freq probably sounds bad, probably is programmed to do this when tuning 243 on BOTH as well for the same reason). Now if your primary (only) transmitter fails then guard switch either doesn’t do anything or it lets you listen on guard
One would think that ATC would monitor 243 so I would think that if you contacted them that way that they would hear it and they could respond. BMS tower only communicates on their primary freq though and there is no F-16 failure that would render UHF usable but unable to backup tune the normal ATC freqs.
Yes there is a utility light, a sort of corded flashlight that the pilot can pick up or mount on the right side of the cabin. There are also a couple spot lights above the MFDs that the pilot can turn on. These three lights are on the battery bus. It wouldn’t light up in a uniform pattern like it does in BMS but you would have battery-powered illumination of a sort. Really it would be nice for BMS to add a clickable spot for the utility light on the utility light model in the cockpit. More clickable spots are always better. In fact I may even do that, add clickable spots for the pilot body, visor, and utility light to eliminate the need for key combos.

Put the Spice bombs back as available/in supply for the KF-16C ROKAF please… though I have already edited the Squadron Stores in my copy…:D
-
That’s campaign Icer, correct? (which one btw?)
In TE, there’s nothing wrong with the Spice in BMS 4.35 KTO and the rokaf birds.
the block52 can carry the Spice 2000 and 2000P
the block 32 can’t
That’s just the same as 4.34Maybe you meant the campaign

Yes, sorry, I only fly Campaigns other than Training TE’s. I’m in 4.35 KTO Tiger Spirit now, maybe its all set for Balkan’s? I love the darn things, just wish I could carry more and use them on more models… I’ll look into adding them to the Blk 52, I think they were not available but just checked… nope, not available for the Blk 50 in this campaign. Started a Rolling Fire Campaign just to see if it’s different as there are 0 KF-16C ROKAF’s in Tiger Spirit and its the same, the only plane that can carry Spice is the KF-16C ROKAF…

I couldn’t help but notice recently there are some problems with the current dogfight module in bms 4.35.Perhaps these could be addressed in a future update or patch for 4.35? I very rudely bring this to the developers attention within the remit of the philosophy that you fight like you train. How else are we to establish good bfm/acm understanding if I and friends are unable to quickly and easily enter into bfm and multi ship engagements where we practice and evaluate different air combat tactics?
Yours humbly snarbs.Sorry but how could we guess what is your problem with it with that post ?
Please be specific

I suggest to improve the strobe anti-collision light which seems to be not enough dazzling in my point of view…very hard to see the wingman n complete darkness from a certain distance with the anti collision on.

Same for the runway strobes

Same for the runway strobes
Runways are fine (compared to RL) … but indeed, other a/c are almost not visible by night. The problem is: it is truly not trivial to enhance, and would probably need to redo ALL 3D models … in other words, do not hold your breath.
I see also another solution than having the lights in 3D model, but we have no idea it is is possible nor desirable.
-
I disagree about runways, IMHO they should be much brighter, and the interaction with lights and weather should be better as well in general.
The bad weather approach and the need for runway lights shining on and off and being dissipated by low clouds of fogs is really missing.Another missing aspect for light is their importance in the role they play in spatial disorientation when flying through weather, especially flashing lights.
On a general observation, the world is way too dark in BMS (don’t tell me it’s because of the visor) and the lights are not enough bright.
I agree it should be made better if possible -

The only thing can say on my side, is that in game, we see the runway much easier and much earlier than what I am used to see during 20y of military aviation.
Fog is another subject, and is something tied to rendering (glows, flares). Not intensity per say.

that’s because you’re used to land on desert strips with special ops guys lighting the runway with matches
My real IFR experience is different but let’s go back to BMS:in dry air, I would agree that the current runway lights are enough for the job we ask them. But in hi humidity air, there’s no light reflection or dissipation or aura as you often can see in real life.
And that’s what I was trying to say. When you’re really looking at getting the runway lights at minima on a shitty weather approach in BMS, I think the lights could be made better to serve their purpose to tell the pilot where the runway is
And that’s also what I meant to tell when you fly in the clouds with your lights flashing. There is in BMS very few reflection on the clouds water drupplets blinding you back, that would be made much more immersive IMHO if possible
But it’s a tiny cherry on the cake I agree. -
Hi again mate!

My real IFR experience is differentI do not fly exclusively over the desert you know.
I know it sounds seriously smart ass, but we can make a list of the airfield landed in IFR by night and/or bad weather if you wish …Quickly just my memory,

…I have an idea about what you mean when speaking weather and night approaches on civilized airports.
But we can disagree, this is no really a problem. It is even a good thing most of the time cause it drains attentions on some aspects of the sim.
Do not forget that we just moved from DX9 to DX11 … it is only the start of a new possibilities (?) However … and IMO this is important:@Red:

Sorry to say mate, but some peoples would certainty appreciate a bit more respect toward the software and the big efforts made to brings us this “shitty weather approach” and what it is today. Especially coming for a team member.
Pointing what is not good is a good thing. But from time to time, a compliment towards the guys who are working or some nice words coming from you could be a game changer.Kind regards. (and thank you for the Docs and the great Interactive AIPs)

I’m with Dee-Jay here.
I think that runways are far too visible in BMS.
I remember clearly, in real life, not being able to really see the runway before 2nm or so even when the weather conditions were very nice. It depends on the runway material, the lighting conditions, the humidity and also the environment.
I’m not here to show who has the biggest one, but Dee-Jay and I come from the same kind of operational flying life (with much more flight hours for Dee-Jay than me).
Also conditions have no relevance here : flying a Cessna 182 in both VFR or IFR will not change the way you see the runway : as anyone know, IFR means flying regulations and not conditions. Most of airline pilots will fly IFR with a CAVOK sky.
Cheers,
Radium
