@MaxWaldorf I think the part about (this is not a request nor is it a complaint) was not read.
Sometimes it’s not that you don’t want to read, it’s that you don’t want to understand.
We will leave the post with the recommendation, in case someone wants to understand and in future versions can help, after all it is called a wish list.
Greetings and success.
Thank you for your participation but just for your information a chock message or a light message or a canopy message etc is just 1 bit transfered and only when the status change . So saving them will save maybe 2 to 4 bits of bandwidth during the whole mp game ….
MP messages are closely monitored when we develop to minimize the consumption , for instance many AI aircrafts DOFS and switches position do not require MP traffic as a remote entity is run on each client which allow to determine the dofs and switches setup without mp communication
Player’s dofs are throttled so that not every move is transferred
There is a code that allows rough position updates or fine positions updates depending on the distance from the action
Radars antennas are throttled …
Weather parameters are not MP transfered during game as they use the same seed and code on each client so that they run same weather cloud positions and movements. Only when a new Fmap is loaded there is MP transfered
Etc etc…
You seem to think that BMS mp code is not setup to minimize traffic , while improvements are always the goal , be sure that a lot of things are already implemented . Beeing able to run online campaign with hundreds of units is a proof of this

thank you for the answer
sorry to hear ,it is a pityNot a pity. The “next” BMS release wasn’t planned to be initially so it has only minor effect on terrain progress.
Terrain is actually progressing REALLY good right now, and I hope soon enough we will have a sort of an alpha version which can already be flown (Campaign wise) right, that is a start.
In oppose to what some may think (Also some internal guys of BMS), Terrain is NOT suppose to be perfect from first release, I’m planning an initial “flyable” version, and then we will improve after that. It will be faster than a “few years”, I assure you that.

This is a really fluffy one.
Can the flight assignments (AI) be done earlier? At the moment it seems to be around 30 minutes. Can you make it for 60 minutes?
Thirty mins is after my Ramp Start time.

Can you explain the relation to your ramp time and how it affects your experience?
-
Sure. My Ramp Minutes is set to 40 mins
set g_nRampMinutes 40
. I’m a little slow, so I’ve set it higher than the norm. And this is where it gets fluffy, I extracted all the Pilot names into WDP Names.ini so I can fill the Flight Pos slots. But, right now, I can’t fill them in because when I go fly (> 30 mins before T/O time) I don’t know who to put into the slots
Personally, I’d rather have proper working cluster munitions than VR, but I thought I’d ask Santa for something smaller.

So here’s my question, and I get terrain was penciled in for 4.37, maybe not now, but we were always given the impression if you actually paid attention to BMS team that 4.36 still has some life in it with maybe still some new big features. Maybe numbering scheme gets jumped now and enough new features warrant 4.37 instead of terrain or stage one of terrain added to 4.37like DX11 in 4.35 with later larger implementation…
So is one of the incremental methods of the terrain improvement if that’s the way BMS goes at least partial revamp of the tile system?
This would be my first “wish” for BMS terrain, even before the mesh or super detailed tiles/no tiles even. Obviously repeating tiles breaks the immersion more often then the mesh honestly. I know that could possibly make theater builders have a lot more work if there isn’t a good tool built with though.

The new terrain will not have old style tiles.

@I-Hawk right, thanks, but I was fishing if you can release new no tiles system before new mesh

Since the mesh system is replacing the tile system, if you don’t have one then you have to have the other. Unless you want to fly around in a terrain-less void. BMS Space simulator

Magnificent response, worthy of a dev team, masterfully neutralized us.
Greetings and the rum goes for us.

Not really practical. While mesh and texturing are different sub topics in terrain rendering, it’s not possible to mix them because there will be more differences between the 2 systems which technically deny that.

Agree with you on the war environment, but I still think the addition of airliners could be interesting. You could use them in TE’s to fly a QRA. F-16’s here scramble quite frequently to ‘intercept’ airlines when they lost radio contact etc. Or if you fly with an Air National Guard unit, you could fly your training misssions from civil airfields. In the US quite a few Guard units operate out of airfields that also have airliners. Like Fresno California for example in the Nevada theater. Could be fun to operate in an airfield and have airliners operate from there as well. Not for the campaign, but in TE’s…

There’s room for a a whole Game Master field in the TE environment (real time interaction with AI orders from UI, to start with), but I’m not sure this is the direction the devs want to take.
If the UI is revamped, that’s another interesting prerequisite potential question: access to UI while in 3D for a dedicated server, without having to run on another computer.

Fair enough, I can see that. Just thought it could be interesting for TE’s. All it takes is add some airliners to the DB. Somebody already did that in the Aegean theater (I think?) sometime ago. I remember screenshots of an Airbus A320 back then. If you do some training flights in TE’s it could liven up the theater a bit if you could add some airliner flights as well.

@hiuuz use the app MFDE and extract it

@AWmk1 THX the advice. Yes, at the moment I use MFDE

Possibility to limit zoom level and disable “instant zoom” in server settings, the same way external views are forbidden.
Hi!
I did some calculation and a quick “kindergarten” sketch about my setup. In my case a 40 degree FOV will be the “natural” value. I think in that case would be the cockpit in real size on the screen, but 40 degree already a bit tunnel view. I wonder Smart Scaling how releated to FOV, how the devs defines the value of Smart Scaling. Even in 60 degree FOV sometimes the distant planes look like big whales swimming in the skies, they look way too slow flying. But for dogfighting Smart Scaling is a MUST HAVE! At least in my opinion.
Ready to be argued

My wishlist for 4.37 :
Koni class frigate ( Balkans )
Sa-22 Pantsir ( Balkans and Izrael )
Ground crew
Exact layout of stationary Sam sites ( Sa-2/3/5)

I thought I understood when reading that JDAM bombs could not be as accurate as LGBs (Paveway III): indeed, they could suffer from loss of connection with satellites or even jamming…I would like to see uncertainty or enemy jamming introduced in BMS in order to introduce a new dimension to the planning of ground-air missions and to put an end to god bombs…
