4.37 killed the AMRAAM

@Mav-jp
18nm for the MAR: that’s because the SU27 flew in 15kft, right?
the MAR calculation is based on the ability to deflect a missile … so if they had flown supersonic at 40kft, the MAR would have been bigger… -

U1 should improve things
Theres definitely an improvement but, It won’t fix poor shots. If you want a kill take a High PK shot. Against another human who knows proper missile defense tactics think inside of 15-18 NM. Anything greater is more than likely a wasted missile. Of course increasing the launch speed and altitude will give you better range but also creates a higher risk to the launching aircraft since missiles love high altitude.
-
@lostr0gue - Sure sounds like it…
-
@Sandman If you want a high PK, you should probably switch to guns

Much more fun

So, did u1 improve things?
-
@Seifer Guidance seems a bit better, more reliable.

Only “a bit”?
Internal tester BFM seniors saw massive improvements
-
BFM TV then. And they test BVR when they don’t watch it.
-
@MaxWaldorf I agree with you …

I think you lost 100% of the non french population…

I don’t have a problem with AMRAAMs not hitting anything at all, but with picking the wrong target.
I.e. when I launch two AMRAAMs in TTS at two MiG-21 (the two flying away from you in Instant Action wave 3, they’re not that close to each other and don’t maneuver at all until pitbull) from Rtr (17 NM or so), there’s something like a 50% chance that the AMRAAMs actually hit both targets, in the other 50%, both missiles pick the same MiG.
I would need to test that a little more, it’s probably more than 50%, but often enough, it doesn’t work as intended. I might also try if STT makes it better.
-
I am not sure that this is a “problem”…
It depends on your radar, datalink and conditions on how missile head is tracking…
I guess you’ll have to anticipate that missiles are not magic anymore and learn to engage properly to make sure you can transform to the proper kill…
-
@Aragorn Me too, everyone knows they are rockets!
-
FYI the acquisition code has just slightly changed in one specific case (I doubt anyone will notice )
That’s not the acquisition that has been changed since there is no issue with it .
That’s the guidance laws that have been improved , in other words their trajectories , in particular the guidance is now making sure that the target won’t go outside gimbals when lead guidance

That’s because you still don’t accept that the target cue can be Miles away from the real target , and it also heavily dépendant of the distance between the target and the shooters radar. STT will be more accurate but still

@WPNS24 my AMRAAMs still killing it…
-
@GhostDog-0 I don’t know what this means? good or bad? sarcasm or not?
-
First time being able to fly update 1 and 1 mission and 4 slammer kills on a 21, 29 and 2 23’s. Seemed normal and have an ACMI as well, The slammers are back baby!!!
-
@WPNS24 i mean, my AMRAAMs are still able to lock and shoot down its target. No bugs
