Santa's wishlist for BMS

The Interactive Map is a great planning briefing tool. Using in the cockpit from my iPad is very useful. For situational awareness it would be great to plot my aircraft’s location along with its heading. This would mean connecting it to my flight somehow… It would provide almost a moving map feature, similar to real world tools like ForeFlight.

This as probably been requested before but is there a way to see the terrain elevation curves for a more informed planning?
Maybe that exist on an external tool that I missed so feel free to enlight me onhow to get those values -

Maybe that exist on an external tool that I missed so feel free to enlight me onhow to get those valuesDepending on the modeled era it would be overkill / overmodeling. In RL such deep and detailed info was not available or you had to create in manually with quite an questionable acc. if you did not have a detailed map.

@molnibalage I think we had the level curve drawn on maps before the gps guided bomb and satellite imagery we can get in the recon screen.
Just thinking it could be nice for indepth planning. Now I have no idea how hard it would be to implement such thing, so it might be too time expansive if nobody would use it. It was just a thought -
@Mikyjax Hello,
Maybe I dont understand your post, but you can check aeronautical maps, and if you can’t have them, you can find very good topography maps, like here, You even have clickable index.
It’s all free at University of Texas website, here and you have the whole world.
Even if BMS terrain model is not yet super precise, but real maps can give you a good idea of elevation curves.
In real life, a fighter pilot works a lot on maps, even if it’s digitalized, especially for flight preparation.

@Radium could you please share a link? thanks

Google Earth has a topographic layer available. I’ve used it for my elk and deer hunts.

My wishlist : having the ability to add your own squadron patch / pilot picture and sharing it when multiplayer connected
btw : i can’t find the post where we could ask to add these patch picture for the next release (if there were any ?)

I would like to come up with a suggestion.
Of course I know about the “spaghetti principle” and the limitations of UI modifications.
But, just imagine.
We all know the problem: we want to frag a flight and get the message “No A/C available”.What if it was possible to get a little “preview” of how many A/C are actually available per squadron, like in my photoshopped pic?
This could be useful information.
Don’t know if it’s doable, though. On campaign (and probably even in TE) it would certainly depends on actual time/clock, location of target/TOS (time of flight vs expected time of departure), … etc … many parameters which would change the results anytime you change on little variable, making that feature almost pointless or unusable, imperfect … etc …
Or, considering a bigger time slot/area. (Reducing the displayed availability vs actual absolute availability at anytime.Just guessing, I am not coder.

I’d like to teach SAM operators in BMS to want to live (or at least try to keep their batteries operational). I mean, they might turn off the radars when they are attacked by ARMs ( of course, HARMs have INS, but a long flight using it will result in a miss). They could generally turn on radars less often, relying on external targeting, and only turn on FCR for attack if they can receive it of course, otherwise acting independently. And finally, shoot down more types of munitions. In BMS, SAMs only react to ARMs. So far, air defense in BMS is an easy target (except Sa-10 and 11, they could shoot down HARMs).

I was modding (including some 3D) during Xmas a bit, and realized, F4 had allways
disadvantageously connected database for terrain objects and vehicles. Would be cool to split this in modern Falcon, cos vehicles are usualy modded and updated with new functions extensively (also r differnet for various eras like 80ths, 90ths, 2k…)., while terrain objects and objectives are rather stable, same for all eras and long term run.
Just chit-chatting… -
@Dee-Jay
You are definitely right.
I get the point - you never can tell how many aircraft are available “at the desired time”.
Anyway, I guess, the “total number of planes at the time being” could help estimating.Recently my squadron got decimated down to 6 planes…
If, during planning, I see that a squadron is so low on capacity, then the job would go to another squadron in the first place. -

I only have 2 wishes:
-CET (Central Europe Theater)
-F-16A Block 15 CockpitI’m still having faith on that!
-
@VDK +1 on that esp proper F-16A with pit and avionics.
Onto something a bit easier, Vitual Crew Chief integrated into BMS and since u4 is supposed to provide OpenXR - handtracking, with simple gestures: left/right click, turn clock/counterclock-wise.
-
I would like to see the ability to change the color of labels and flight path in the 2D map.
-
I would love to have an “Touch and go request” option in the Tower comms menu
-
I’d like to be abused by ATC before touchdown, having had a brain-melt and going final on the wrong heading/runway.
-
Any and all ATC improvements / expansion get my vote.
BMS had led the way for many a year in this department and it would be good to retain that crown.

Few days ago I was thinking about sim scoring negative points to the logbook for blatant flight safety violations. If anyones total career point would reach given level of negative points pilots account would be permanently disabled.
In general better pilot performance rating system would be nice, where score is given taking mission type into account. My pilot who had tailstrikes on landing twice: nervous breathing

I would like to have APKWS. Since the AGM-65L and AGM-123 are already modelled, it can’t be too hard to implement another laser-guided rocket, right?
