@vyrago:
was discussing this with another user, it seems in BMS that ews/jamming doesnt protect missiles, only friendly aircraft. This would require more testing to confirm.
Damn, you could be right just there, … BMS anti-missile defense is quite new and is quite possible that OECM support (which is not quite… real) doesn’t reflect on AGM’s … well, tough luck.
Overall, OECM , yes there’s room for improvement , but maybe it really needs total overhaul. … it is a big “soup” , not are every type of radar affected in the same way , not are all air objects RCS affected same, when different type of radar is under effect of jamming … unfortunately data for this is “unavailable” if not classified … so - best guess.
Hope team will do something about it … but it will be probably more work then just 3-4 weeks.
Anyway… I’ll try to do the math myself tonight… I have a nice (modded) RUS-SAG consisting of Kirov/Kiev and few Sovremenny’s / Osa’s … armed to the teeth…
(my custom test-campaign with custom database)
Will see how it goes against a volley of Harpoons then Jsow-C’s … few Harm’s wouldn’t mind also , just to keep radar busy.
So that’s hint no2. -> overwhelm enemy defense with numbers and different directions … in short, attack volleys from flights from at least 3 approaches and variety of salvo, 16 harpoons , 16 Jsow’s , 8 Harms
In principal, that’s US standard defense doctrine for which carrier fleet is prepared , 360 SAM coverage, as they’ve expected Russian attack TU-22 with more then 100 missiles , AS-4 , AS-6…
There is a nice old book depicting the situation , “Red Storm Rising” … read/listen chapter “Vampires” … and all be clear 😉
Cheers
What I’m up against…
Gatling’s (Ak-130) are wrong since no way to simulate real double gatlings in BMS , then creating a new weapon and/or model, there would be too much weapons for platform
