From technical POV sure this can be done. Practically, some dedicated code will be necessary. I’m sure it’ll happen someday, at least I know I will do it someday if no one will until then, but I currently have much more urgent tasks to finish.
Basically, pure technical, it’s not such a big deal. You need to draw the clouds from the light source POV into a render target (Basically we do that for objects to create shadows) and then sample that texture during terrain rendering in order to shade the terrain with clouds shapes. No big deal indeed, but at such cases there are always “little things” that need to be adjusted which always makes it a full-concentrate task. Someday will happen though, for sure.

-btw - sa10 vs harm … maybe we can do some tradeof here , so discussable by all means, . make it ‘enabled’ but make the PK very low , as 0.10 - 0.50 < 1 … what you say ?
…then could be separate PK… = SAM vs Harm … that could be another ‘field’ in DB // PK vs AA , PK vs lowAA ,… > PK vs ARM-since, Harm was already lowered PK … tend to miss much more than before
-again , if you decide to Enable anti-missile defense , then you’ve opened another ‘can of worms’ … most if not all SAM missiles should target almost everything , from AGM154 … to AGM84E Slamer , and AGM84A Harpoon,
-IF it is DETECTED (ground clutter, hills) AND IN DLZ of sam missile … so, PK will not be that high , depends on sam RADAR and position , … eg, Semi-Active NAVAL sam CAN’T engage targets DIRECTL due to below the horizont ~24nm … so SAM vs Harpoon is not going to work in greater then > 24 nm . … but there are point-defense too ~0.5-2nm range
- Cruise missile over ground can fly Terrain-following , so if in radar blind-spot , … like plane, cannot be targeted and engaged …
… also Russian side … Western SAM’s vs Russian ARM, ASM, AGM … (eg Patriot vs AS-17P )
- typically , every “BETTER” sam should target 90% of cruise missiles ,… Modern SAM’s (SA15/17) should target even Glide-bombs and GBU’s … yeah it’s complicated … but again it must be in DLZ of sam missile/radar…
-no problem for Glide bomb, as it starts HIGH … but GBU is (kinda) short-stand off weapon , so it is FAST … not much time for SAM DLZ … BUT! , today it exist
-also don’t forget … GUNS vs Missile . eg Phalanx/AK-130 vs ASM

Debug builds are a lot more frame rate challenged than release builds in general. You need not be concerned about this kind of thing – we pay attention to performance when it comes to the release configuration builds. We don’t put things in that crater performance (…and there are things we have tried that do that and where the conclusion is “never mind…” once it is tried in a release build and turns into a slide show).

The reason is NLG wow switch being triggered very briefly by a nasty bump
I am not sure it happens again in U1 else I will improve it

No “chill” (?) if there is a bug it is good to know what to be able to fix.
