Quick update from the frontlines, 4.36

@Seifer
Maybe there are those who are curious and impatient like me. Can you give a hint about the new models? For example, is the F-14 available in the new version?

-

I’m in in BMS since a few weeks but all this work is impressive… never seen before.

So a big thank you! but please, as I’ve printed all the manuals do not modify them too much :)

-

@Necker The chances of that happening are not that good ;)

-

We just fixed the SU33 - not possible to take off on Kuz for player and F18 AFM shaking on ground :)

Will there be any changes to the installation process, either in the upcoming version or future releases? What I mean is changing from the current “patch the installer with updates” to a more common “install updates after installing the game”?

I don’t know if this has been discussed before or if there have been answers as to why it’s not possible.

@justonce01 We’re thinking about it but far from there…

Very nice!

-

A new fullscreen User Interface maybe? With integrated WDP?

-

@hiuuz UI isn’t going to be changed according to previous reports IIRC. It is a very hard nut to crack with how it was built.

will the so called link 16 be implemented in 4,36?

no
you need to face reality

it is extremly complex to use and would need major upgrade of AI

TBH when I read docs about Link16 I wonder how this would be possible to sue it without proper real training

Could you detail this?
I work on Link16 training (on a different platform). One day I tried to analize the possibility of having L16 on BMS, but I thought that it was not done before due to the limitations of the Falcon Bubble. On Link16 the C2 sends a J3.2 for surveillance tracks sending you the position of air hostiles, however on bms if the hostiles are out of the bubble, C2 can only send you what is seen on the 2D screen, right? This would mean that a hostile formation cannot be seen outside the bubble as several aircraft, but as a formtation of Xship aircraft, right?
Regarding the implementation of the TN management and network, that could be done automatically by the DTC, as the COMPLAN does now. Briefing page could extract even an OPTASKLINK. Then on the aircraft just power it up and syncro, and ready.

what is falcon bubble can you explain what is does?

@vfp

https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/18513/the-bubble-system?=1645782813294

I’m not a BMS expert by any stretch of the imagination but I think it has to do with multiple units being “aggregated” into a single entity once you’re a specific distance from them in 3d.

All the best,

Uwe

-

3D models and maths disappear outside of the bubble, it turns back to 2D and probabilities (dice).

-

@LorikEolmin Darnit…! I wanted to answer that question, Lorik, but you went and burst my bubble…!

-

and i guess they invented bubble for better performance? why you cant have 3d models and units not aggregated and maths all over the map? if i understand correctly

and i guess they invented bubble for better performance? why you cant have 3d models and units not aggregated and maths all over the map? if i understand correctly

Yes. Get on a DCS MP server/lots of units SP mission and watch the difference in CPU usage (why DCS can be both CPU or GPU bound depending on what you are doing), and you will appreciate the genius of the Falcon bubble.

@Snake122
i aggree with you definetly ,my only objection is campaign, seems that bubble doesnt help a lot

@Snake122
i aggree with you definetly ,my only objection is campaign, seems that bubble doesnt help a lot

Because you tried without?

i just say
