Only one DL on one frequency, like UHF 298.750.
Package leader can host CONT for Flight Leads and his own flight in UHF.
Elements leaders can host CONT on VHF for their flight.
Flight leads can switch from U and V and listen.I imagined that but I prefer Gasmanβs method: DMD only from anyone, flight leads having own flight and other leads, and wingmen only own flight. Anyway it will always be more complicated than. 33 if you want to rely on DL as much as you used to.
So reading this it is confirmed which did not naturally jumped into my eyes.
We did also extensive testing on our typical COMAO Setup
5 flights in one package with 2-4 planes per flight; 11 is the round owner; everyone has all leads on IDM#5-#8 and only ownship in #1-#4. If now IDM is started via UHF all leads are visible to each other, within the first flight everyone is visible to each other, BUT in all other flights only the wingmen can see their leads but not vice-versa. Reading all info I got is that the wingmen actually sort of βhack inβ to the signal and can visualize the signals as they are on the same UHF frequency and share a common/ compatible IDM Setup. Unfortunately, the leads do not see their wingmen.
So what is the consolidated answer? UHF/ VHF with nb 1/3? What if there is no nb3? Forget about DL at all? Fall back on VHF only AA DL and from time to time DMD on UHF?
Could someone confirm the behaviour stated above as correct?
Thanks,
