I just started a new theater and spent a lot of time Fragging packages for day 1 of Loriks KTO Poseidon (Thanks Lorik!) A lot of my time was spent changing waypoint speeds and altitudes in BMS until I had a flight/package set up and timed the way I like it, at which point I could duplicate it in Mission Commander (Thanks Falcas!)
My question for the group is “Is there a faster, easier way?” The AI does the job, but often not very well and I hate losing aircraft because of something the AI did differently than I would have.
I sometimes wonder if there is a file to change that might affect the default parameters of a flight when it is created e.g. If I am going to build an F-15 CAP flight, I could make the default altitude to be 40,000 feet and default speed to be something fast like 600 kts TAS. Then, before building a deep strike for my vipers, I could change the defaults to 1000’ and 400 kts.
This seems like it might work but also might screw up the way the AI frags flights so that my tankers try to cruise at 1000’ and 400kts…
Does anyone have advice on workflows to build various packages quick and easy?
