One of these days you should fly with us on a CAS flight, we can already do a few nice things on a TE On campaign, though, that could be a very good idea - FAC flight receiving messages from AWACS informing them of TIC.
Another thing is that the AI FAC is far from perfect, I fully agree. The funny thing is that Microprose had a ton of projects for them, you can see it on the sound files. But implementing it for real is a PITA…
The CAS bit is what I’d love to see done properly. Sign in with AWACS/JSTAR, be tasked to area by AWACS/JSTAR. Signing in with the JTAC when you arrive at the TIC and then following the JTACs instruction to weapon deployment. With something like a war in Korea you’re probably going to be doing one pass, dropping the lot and leaving while in an Afghanistan type scenario you might have to loiter while an AH64 does it’s job just in case you’re needed or you might be instructed to drop a single bomb on a specific hard point or to make a strafing attack or maybe just a show of force fly past…
Not sure if anyone still uses airborne FAC, but that again would be interesting with the AFAC controlling the engagement and possibly marking the target for you. Maybe the AH64 is designating a target for you to hit, the possibilities are endless.
But I fear all a pipe dream as the programming involved would be horrendous. Imaging having to construct a matrix for the AI to decide how close they want you to drop that 500lb dumb bomb … as one who knows sometimes the TIC want it dropped a LOT closer than the pilot feels is prudent. Calculating any Friendly casualties from the drop … taking account in you matrix of the perceived outcome if the bomb isn’t dropped … talking a panic’d JTAC out of dropping the bomb in favour of using a missile or the gun maybe. It would need to be a sim within a sim and isn’t going to happen … but a man can dream

…on top of that, lase frequency directed from FAC (air or ground). Basically you have to set your laser frequency as dictated from the FAC. That would be interesting. My, how the office in your pit gets real busy now!

The sim is close to perfect with the new release. Now the one thing remaining is to add a mission where the goal is to attack and take down those giant alien spaceships from the Independence Day while dogfighting with the little fighter ships.

Fast FAC works great now with Buddy lasing and/or LST
but that human MP only. We made a few MP FAC hop while testing with 3 humans. A fast fac controlling a 2 ship CAS on a moving column about to merge with Friendlies
and gosh it’s hard to perform to a great level of profesionnalism !!It’s a real challenge

CAS with a JTAC/FAC is probably the most challenging mission you can have right now if you want to do it as professionally as possible, luckily BMS 4.33 gives you more tools than before.

landing speeds are MUCH more accurate in 4.33 since TEFs have been modeled much more accuratly. open your dash 1 and check your landing charts vs weight…. you probably have wrong slope btw

I just performed a landing into Chongju Clean config with 4000Lbs fuel. Configured for landing 5 miles out straight in 2000 ft. flew the approach level till i caught the GS and brought it in at on speed AOA followed the GS and did not loose the VVI or staple at all. Just to let you know landing speed was around 140 Kts. “which really is irrelevant when landing a fighter.” The numbers are much more correct in 4.33

you really dont need to check it with ILS. unless you think its not correct. But to tell you I just did an ILS approach @ Minimums at another AP and there was no prob on my end.

I would like to have the possibility to be on a plane as “spectator” (or something like that) just to have the possibility to create a pseudo 2 seat capability. No need to add new avionics, just be on a plane that is been piloted by someone else.

This would be great. And if the user could pick the location, wherever, on the airfield/carrier or in an aircraft, all the better.

I would like to be able to turn off the in-sim cockpit MFD’s if extracting them to a second monitor. It would save a bunch of FPS not having to render the image twice. When I turn them off flying the A-10C in DCS I see at least a 15 FPS jump.

I would like a way to have the complete checklists in-game, on-screen, preferably on a small window so that it could be used while using the Oculus Rift without having to remove the headgear to read them.

Mmm. You can get a page on each knee using the pilot mod. Dont think you can change pages with it. That would probably be a worthy addition - particularly so for VR.
With that said, I dont think you need it for the OR. The Rift simply has too low resolution for you to be able to read a checklist in the game.
