RE: Does it have different result if we run a dynamic campaign in 2D only or in 3D only?
Yep. @Atze-0 gave you correct direction.
There is no way to run strategic element of the game with our computing power - like, in 3d - hence, “bubble” , everything “in it” will run in “high fidelity”, (correctly simulated … or so…) “de-aggregated”…
Everything “out of the bubble” will run “aggregated” (2d simulated) - “low fidelity”.
And those two stages differ a lot … in BMS. (probably everywhere).
BMS (and Falcon4) still needs a lot of tweaking to close the difference between high / low fidelity … it is an art , and PITAFor better understanding, our stubborn friend @tiag has made very good series of videos for understanding principles of “Dynamic Campaign”
Watch those , you’ll get the overall picture why is happening that what you’ve asked.
Cheers!!

RE: Scaling the UI
This. those next lines Put-in “Falcon BMS User.cfg”
Play some with values to get what you want.// New UI set g_nInternalUIResolutionMode 1 set g_fScaleUIFactor 0.8 // 1.0 fit to screen. a lower value will decrease UI size. set g_nScaleUIMode 2

RE: Best way to attack ZSU-23-4 ?
Well, first of, keep your distance and height. ZSU andd SA9 are short(er) range … so no real threat if not in their (range) envelope.
But problem often is they are accompanied by other stuff SA2/3/6. so… those are preferably dealt first. (harm and stuff)
Above ones (base defense) can be dealt even with clusters , free falls, jdam … etc.
Keep around @12kft , 450-500 kts (w/o tgp) and “pepper” them with Mk20 x2 or more (x4) .
… even lob the bombs (LOFT) if you have SAMs around … then back to 180 NOE.
Of course , this way only PRE-planned or in teamwork - need distraction. If only you - you’ll draw everything they got - mmm. not preferred to be in.Practice !

RE: TrackIR issue
@SemlerPDX
Heya. Can you , pretty please, give (upload) this profile of yours for my testing.
Yes I can see YAW , but I want to see other axis, X/Y/Roll.You managed to get it smooth @10 ,… I can’t get it stable if not 40, small jitters.
But, I’ve been using some copy of default:
Maan, opentrack is much easier to configure an axis than TIR - or maybe just me
Thanks.

MAV-jp
It may be that the trigger for flare release is being painted by friendly Radar ?
Ironman
Even by the friendly radar, YES. AI is constantly doing that since … huuh, 4.35/36 ? … but , for some/long time.
When spiked they’ll do that, drop CM’s, but only if attacked they’ll do evasive actions.
Once, my wingman (idiot) , was spiked by SA-19 at 34000ft , dropped flare/chaff and dived for evasion to some 10-15000ft … and guess what , they nailed him. … QUIT

RE: Effective Use of AIM-7s
Just out of curiosity… , I haven’t tried in BMS yet … will do next week when I get home…
But, there was a “LOFT” mode for Aim-7’s , in FF or AF maybe … or some other sim… … but is this available in BMS also ?
That mode was used on M series to extend range… probably useful only vs Bomber size targets… it fired missile straight up and intercept target in dive … so not “direct LOS” type launch.

RE: Cockpit buttons Missing AV-8B
@Hellpluss said in Cockpit buttons Missing AV-8B:
Is this a bug or have i missed something.
Nope. It’s not a bug, just N/I. But here’s what can you do, it is my workaround but it works, you can try if you like it.
- check all missing commands and assign keys to direct functions - not! toggle functions ,…
- eg . JFS1 = ctl shf j , JFS2 = alt shf j , JFS_OFF = shf j … etc. for all missing switches
- only, that way you’ll need to remember or print key - list
- no worries, after 10 ramp starts it will already get into memory
- as plus, keys will work in any pit

The google disk download is very unstable. It keeps disconnecting and it is not my connection problem. Can you please do something about it?
Here, you can use this magnet/torrent if that is working for you.

RE: 2d map STPT lines
Funny , page is #FF in hex.
Just to add-on to @Quasi_Stellar , everything mate said is ok.
But MP story is kinda more detailed. You will only be “blacklisted” (lockedout) on public servers where those MP server checks are in use. checks for simdata, database, etc.
Then really, you will not be able to join mp.But, in some “friendly” server , where those database checks are OFF (via bmsconfig) , eg, your own server … you can still play in MP with your buddies , just be sure that you only have that kind of stuff, “low profile stuff”, edited in “planes.dat” …
Different avionics , “higher intelligence stuff”, could probably lead to CTD in MP - but BMS will mostly work until it encounters some “unexpected” difference in between server / client. So , for HSD colors, you’re good to go even in MP (if customized in “plane.dat” and not in callsign.ini), … JUST on server where MP checks are OFF and there is mutual consensus - not to cheat

First I thought , antiG suit pressure was too good but then I realized she is missing certain attributes like safety air bags. some miss.

RE: A new callback request for SPD BRAKE functionality.
@airtex2019
Yeah, I have no problem with that, just sayin’. That these days ppl are not as “constructive” as 20yrs before. The solution is also fine, I mean, I don’t have to use it, and I ain’t forbidding anyone.

RE: Cougar U2 NXT & Simped Rudder Pedals Problem
It was probably some “electrical resistance” problem , since wires were crimped (not factory anymore) resistance changed, and controller was out of calibration. - was stick plugged in (powered) when “cat attack” occurred ?
It would be best to “in-line” solder the cut wires, for better conductivity (better then crimping) - since we’re dealing with somewhat delicate resistor changes. — but after if calibration is within limits , then you’re OK
The cat was lucky that these weren’t main, power line chords, which would result in crispy cat
Yeah, I’ve seen similar attack on my front-left speaker , those tiny pointed teeth cut the copper inside insulation like cheese, leaving me baffled – it was working yesterday just fine???

RE: A new callback request for SPD BRAKE functionality.
Yeah, I agree also. As @Boxer said “Department of Redundancy Department”.
What people are forgetting these days that all these sticks/throttles are “Programmable” - not sure anymore what that word means, but ok, huh ?
TM Cougar throttle has T9 and T10 buttons for operating speedbrakes, T9 is spring loaded for opening & T10 is toggle for closing.
I’m pretty sure that with minimal effort you can mimic those functions to ANY JOY BUTTON via “whatever programming logic” in BMS and/or “whatchacalled stick programming software”.
I know I can make it work in “Foxy” like a joke. = on press of T99 do in(shift b), hold for 10sec , out(shift b) - even now especially you can use directinput button respectively, without need of keyboard shortcuts, button 27(28 dec) - but is matter of personal preference of key-config

As yet, there has been absolutely no response.
Or, was there? … Just didn’t noticed yet.

Landing lights (all planes)
It is a nitpicky detail … but
When you look better (if not by error in perspective) you can see landing light pointing slightly down - and not directly in front of the plane.
…and is logical , since you need to slightly “flare” the aircraft on glidesclope.“Santa” , what’s the word ? Can we see the effect in 4.38 ?
Cheers, and Xmas , and New Year.

RE: Why BMS team put a Link 16 device in Christmas message photo?
Probably some kid left it after meeting Santa.

RE: Middle East Theater 128 for 4.37
Yeah, kinda minimal report … need more info for theater dev(s).
Maybe AGM-65A ?
Try without -RTT . , only +TrackIR.- heck, it was years when I’ve used that missile last time - only D,G, and E(L)
Next what to do is run BMS with logging “Falcon BMS.exe -mono” and try to crash it once again.
In user/logs/ dir you should get an “xlog” file along with other crash files.
Then upload all 4 files about crash (xlog, txt, dmp), upload those files zipped in some upload site.It might have some info for @SpbGoro .
Cheers
