@Dee-Jay:
Correct.
MK-82
450KIAS / Dive 30°
05000ft Depression setting : xxx
10000ft Depression setting : xxx
15000ft Depression setting : xxx
20000ft Depression setting : xxx
… etc …
I prepared three templates, 30/20/10degs dive bombs with mk82
type dive_angle release_alt release_speed SD AOA SA
30DB 30 3k 450 5.7 1.6 7.3/127
20DB 20 2k 450 5.9 1.7 7.6/133
10DB 10 1k 450 5.5 1.8 7.3/127
```, where
type: type of dive bomb (DB)
dive_angle: dive angle for releasing ; pitch angle of FPM (degs)
release_alt: release altitude (feet)
release_speed: CAS speed (knots)
SD: sight depression measured by the angle between the pipper and FPM at the release ; for this calculation the bombing distance is required indicating that a bombing trajectory calculation is necessary ; various programs are existing, such as WDP, Falcas program, and etc ; i used the profile, [https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?30601-MK-82-ballistics-bomb-range-in-terms-of-release-velocity-angle-and-altitude&p=471445&viewfull=1#post471445](https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?30601-MK-82-ballistics-bomb-range-in-terms-of-release-velocity-angle-and-altitude&p=471445&viewfull=1#post471445)
AOA: angle of attack ; the values are so variable dependent on GW, Drag, environment (temperature, pressure), dive angle, speed, alt, etc ; in this calculation, i assumed that GW: 30k DI: 150, STP(15degsC, 29.92inHg) ; this value is hardly obtained ; RL manual, such as HAF-supplemental is helpful
SA: sight angle (degs/milliradian,mr) ; this is what we set in the manual bombing, bombing reticle ; this is the sum of SD and AOA
This is one of patterns and the people can find their suitable profiles. The importance of the manual bombing requires a consistent training and remember ur numbers, release alt, speed, dive angle, sight angle and etc prior to setting a mission.
I hope this is helpful.
Thanks,
